Thirty minutes later, Max watched the woman sleeping in his arms, eyes dripping with honey. He was crazy for her. Perhaps, he wasnt completely sane for loving another being as much as he loved the woman sleeping beside him.
Maybe it had nothing to do with who she was. He was the only person alive from his entire lineage. Every member of his family died a hero. He would be the first to die a villain.
But did it matter? Whether he died a hero or a villain, he would be remembered either way. Besides, how would being revered help him in death? He would already be gone.
No matter how the world felt about him, it had nothing to do with him. What mattered most was if he remained true to his words and remained faithful to his heart.
This was his chance. He would be a bitter man if he tried to please the world. Rather, he chose to abandon the world and live life on his terms.
