Lili and Alban got crazy with ordering all kinds of dishes. It's not an exaggeration to say that they have visited all the fast-food and fine dining restaurants in their city, and the stalls and small shops are not spared. They ordered in large numbers via online and set a time for pick up,and they order the same amount in the same restaurant every other day, and if it is their most favorite, they will do it everyday.
They are not worried of the prices or the cost of these. Despite the cost of expenditure of filling Alban's space with all things necessary, and the cost of the things in Lili's living space, including the expenses their family have spent for their special training on various dangerous zones such as rainforests and deserts, Aldrich's hidden treasure trove still have millions left on it.
Calculating, they can't still spent all of it even though they have not save and scrimp at all. It can be seen how terrifying the amount of money Aldrich have. Alban, who have witnessed and accompanied Alban in purchasing supplies,weapons,and all kind of things as a movable infinite warehouse, can clearly feel the horror of Aldrich financial might. Just how strong is his Dad? And what status does he and his former family have?
If not that their parents is worried of other incidents or afraid that the apocalypse may come early, the two siblings might have gone on a food tour to all other cities they can think of.
Their everyday routine is ordering food, picking it up, strolling around food areas such as street vendors, eating all kinds of delicacies, going back to Lili's space to help their parents put away the meatbuns, bentos, breads and pastries they made fresh into Alban's space, then order more food. The cycle repeats continuously. Of course, they did not neglect their training.
It is important to mention that Lili and Alban's mastery of their spaces have reached unprecedented level. Now, they did not need to touch their pendant tattoos to gain access to their spaces. Alban can now put in and out a bulk of things without any effort and fatigue for a long time.
Lili can also effortlessly take anything to her space at any time with her mental power having only taking a negligible toll.
Lili and Alban can also peep on each other's spaces without touching each other when they are in each other's sight. Not only that, Alban can also go in and out of Lili's space without any effort at all, and Lili can take in and out anything from Alban's space, provided that they are within a kilometer of each other .It was discovered by various experiments and hard work. Maybe because their pendants are originally a connected pair that it is possible. To them, it is a huge gain.
Days quickly passed by, and because of the Lu family's busy schedule, they barely felt it until a week before the apocalypse that they felt an unusual atmosphere .
Before, they only felt uneasy and irritable. But now, they somehow feel unable to breathe or vent. A depressed aura enveloped the city, or more specifically, the whole world.
The normal people only feel that they are having a hard time feeling happy, or that they feel depressed for no reason at all. It is very easy for them to explode in anger or to break down crying any moment of the day. They did not take any notice of these at all, and go by with their lives.
Those that are special took notice, and raised their vigilance. But they can not find anything worth guarding against. Nor did they did see anything strange. There are no special events or whatsoever happening. They can only suppress their misgivings.
During this week, the Lu siblings converged their actions and honestly stayed in the space with their parents either training, resting, or helping with the cooking. They also help the farm robots to put the harvested grains, meats, vegetables and fruits into the processing machines to be processed into canned or dried products. It is much more convenient in this way considering the environment of the apocalypse they are going to face.
THE NIGHT BEFORE THE APOCALYPSE
The Lu family exited the space. For insurance for them to evolved as they are not sure if the things that made living beings evolved affect the space,they decided to wait for the apocalypse outside.
The house they are in is the same small house that the family had initially lived in. Although it has almost always been vacant with them going on trips for specialized training and saying on Lili's space, this house is also a home for them. They did not want to buy a larger house to accommodate them because first; they can stay in the house in the space, and second, this house has many memories of their family.
Outside the two bedrooms in the small hallway, Aldrich and Felicia faced Lili and Alban. They embraced each other fiercely.
"We can do it. We have to survive this evolution okay? " Felicia said with tears in her eyes as she put her hands on her children's shoulder. They do not know if all of them can survive this so called evolution.
Although they all have trained and have good health, they can't be sure that they won't turn into zombies as Alban had said that in his dream, studies have shown that turning into zombies have nothing to do with the fitness of the body, but depend on luck and willpower. It had no pattern at all.
Lili nodded while sniffing, her eyes and nose red as she jumped to hug her parents again. Aldrich reach out to pat Lili and Alban's head as he said gruffly. "Do your best."
The parents watch their son and daughter enter their room, having one last look before turning to enter their bedroom.
"Darling, what if you and I turn into zombies? " Felicia asked while she lay on her husband's chest.
"Well, then we will be a handsome and beautiful husband and wife zombie."Aldrich said smiling as he comforted his wife.
Felicia laughed and swatted his wandering hands.
"Apocalypse is approaching and all you are thinking is nonsense '"She scolded.
"Procreating is not nonsense. " Defended Alban as he sniffs his wife's throat.
"Behave, you do not want to be a naked zombue right? Just imaging that scene is making me laugh. " Felicia said as she did just that.
Aldrich grimaced and took back his hand, embracing his wife.
"We will always be together whatever may happen,okay?" He asked as rubbed his chin on her head.
Felicia nodded as she snuggled in his arms.
"Okay. "
In a small bedroom where a bed covered with light blue quilt, the dim light hazily cast it's shadows in the two forms that are lying there. A sniffing sound can be heard.
"Stop crying, there, there. "
Alban comforted his sobbing sister as he patted her small back.
"Big brother, what if I became a zombie? I don't wanna leave you and Mama and Papa! "
Lili cried fearfully as she buried her tear stained face in his chest.
"No you will not. "
Alban firmly replied.
"What if? You can't be too sure Big brother. What if you and Mama and Papa became zombies too? We all will be ugly! "
Alban have black lines running down his forehead. If he was not sure that it is not Lili's main concern, he may have beaten her small butt.
Alban tightly embraced Lili.
"I'm sure. You can do it Lili. Dad, Mom, and Big brother will always be with you,and if we all became zombies, we will be a zombie family with all members being beautiful and handsome. "He said, his similar words with Aldrich fully conveying that he had long been stained by the Lu family color.
Lili giggled as she agreed.
"If I become a zombie, I will eat Big brother first. "
"Why? "Alban questioned.
"Well, Big brother is so beautiful . Mama said that all benefits must not go onto another family, but must remain in one's family. Big brother is so great and handsome ,so your benefits should remain in the family."
Alban resignedly massaged his aching forehead.
"So if I become a zombie, I have to eat you too? "
"Hmmmm. "Lili nodded hard.
Alban pulled the quilt to Lili's chin,urging her to sleep.
"Go to sleep now, all those eating or being eaten will have to wait in the apocalypse. "
Lili got closer to Alban and put her arm in Alban's waist. After a few minutes of waiting, and hearing the smooth breathing of the little girl, Alban is certain that Lili is now asleep.
Under the hazy glow of the light that filtered through the curtains, a dangerous and crazy light flashed through Alban's eyes. He caressed Lili's smooth red cheeks lightly.
" I am selfish. I have finally obtained what I did not even know I want or needed. I can't lose you, and If you really became a zombie, I will turn myself into one to accompany you. "He declared in a cold voice that have hidden madness in it.
It seem that spending the time with the loving Lu family does not really changed Alban, it only restrained him. A leopard really cannot change its own spots.
Alban gathered Lili tightly, and slowly fell asleep, his long eyelashes fluttering as a smile graced his lips,softenig his cold face.
Hours passed, and on the dawn of the new day when the sun was just breaking through the surface,In the year 2021 A.A,In the first day of the month October,a sudden blackout occur throughout the world. All lights snuffed off, all machines stopped. Humans, animals and all living beings, whether in the land, sea, or sky, dropped down as if puppets that have its strings cut off.
Time stand still, and in this blinding darkness where none is visible, a misty fog full of violent and gentle energies envelop the planet and all the creatures in it.
A big change is about to occur.
