Skullius narrowed his eyes. He couldn't hear what the men were talking about.
One of the only significant things he'd gathered about 'Smoke Eyes' Dragon – other than the fact that he was a Sword God, of course – was that, like any other powerful combatant, he was prideful. There was an ego hidden behind the streams of dark smoke flaring from his sockets.
So… why was he giving up his blade, and with a respectful gesture, no less? He hadn't offered an ounce of the same grace to Gylliard.
Who were these two stocky men?
The question remained unanswered. Skullius was sure his escort would sooner stab his own Broader Existence than give him a lick of intelligence regarding the affair.
Thus, he watched silently, contemplating, till five minutes later, when the short men left Dragon. They'd only studied his sword for a fraction of that time, which brewed even more questions in Skullius' mind.
