(MC's POV)
When Toru's parents arrived at the police station, the first thing I noticed was clothes floating out of both sides of the cab.
"Huh?"
I blinked a few times and rubbed my eyes with my left wrist.
Looking back at Toru's parents, I realized they, too, were invisible.
(Seriously? What is going on?)
"Toru!""Ichika-kun! Please lend me your right arm!"
Toru suddenly grabbed my right hand.
Peeeeeww!
My quirk canceled out her invisibility, and Toru's real appearance was now visible.
"Hehe..."She flashed me a mischievous smile.(Img<<<)
Her parents rushed over, visibly worried.
"Hello, have you seen our daughter? She's invisible, just like us!"
A woman wearing a white office uniform asked us in a panic.(She must be the mother, and the man in the black suit... must be her father.)
"Yeah, she's wearing a uniform just like..."When they looked at Toru's uniform, they froze, noticing something about her.
Toru grinned widely."Guess who?"
Her parents froze, staring at her face in shock.
"That voice... Toru?"Her mother couldn't believe her eyes."How... how can you do that?"
"Hehehe. You see, Dad," Toru explained cheerfully, "Ichika-kun's quirk has the ability to nullify others' quirks. Every time I touch his right hand, my invisibility disappears. Look!"
Toru released my hand. A few seconds later, her invisibility returned.
"When I hold his hand again..."She grabbed my right hand once more.
Peeeeeww!
Her real appearance became visible again.
"TADA!! See? Amazing, right?"
"Ufufu... my daughter was actually adorably beautiful—"Her father cut in, trembling.
"WAAAHH!!"He screamed loudly, his eyes wide in disbelief.
"I just can't accept this! My Toru is too young for this kind of relationship!"I was stunned by this overprotective father.
"Dad! We're just friends!"Toru retorted, but suddenly, her father grabbed my arm and tried to pull my hand away from hers.
"Stop holding my daughter's hand—"Peeeeeww!"Eh?"
My jaw dropped when I saw Toru's dad in his real form.
He was an older man with a beard, and there was a patch of bald skin on top of his head that made him look like one of those wise old saints.(Img<<<)
"Pfffffft!"Toru and her mother burst out laughing.
"What's wrong with your head, Dad?! It looks so shiny! Hahahahaha!"
"Darling... Pfffffft... Your head... I know you're bald, but... seeing the real thing... Hehehe..."
I tried my best not to react, but deep inside, I was cracking up. I had to maintain a calm demeanor...
"Pfffffft! Hahahahahaha!"I couldn't hold it in anymore. I laughed out loud.
"Look, Dad! You even made Ichika-kun laugh! Your shiny head is amazing! Hahahaha!"Toru's father turned bright red, embarrassed, and let go of my arm.
He turned toward his invisible wife.
"It's not fair that I'm the only one getting laughed at!"He grabbed her arm.
"You have to show yours too!"His wife became flustered."Wait! Darling! I'm not ready yet!"
"Who cares!"He forced her to touch my right hand.
Peeeeeww!
"Huh?"
We all froze. What appeared before us was an incredibly beautiful woman. She had long, chartreuse green hair like Toru's, and her skin was pale.
(Img<<<)
"Mom?"
"A-ah... a-a-a..."Her father's voice trembled in shock. He seemed completely speechless.
He clearly hadn't expected his wife to be this beautiful. If she weren't invisible, she would undoubtedly be a renowned beauty.
"You look gorgeous!""Really?""Right, Ichika-kun?"
Toru turned toward me, her eyes expectant.
"Yes..."I nodded.
"Now, Dad is going to dote on both of us! Hehehe..."Toru giggled at her father, who was still in shock at how stunning his wife was.
Toru's dad finally seemed to realize how lucky he was to have such a beautiful wife and a cute daughter. He looked a little deflated.
Her mom, noticing his change in mood, clung to him.
"Don't think too much about it, Darling. I loved you, even before all this. Besides, I found something interesting about you. Ufufu... Regardless, this beauty is useless unless you have someone like Ichika-kun who can see us."
"He's amazing, right?"Toru looked proudly at me.
"Anyway," Toru continued, "I'm still cooking dinner tonight. How about I make everyone's favorite?"
"Yay!"The family seemed to brighten at the thought.
Afterward, they thanked me for saving their daughter's life and apologized for the trouble she caused.
"Bye, Ichika-kun! See you at school!"Toru waved as the cab pulled away.
I waved back."Ichika-kun! Don't forget to smile! You'll look even more handsome that way!"She reminded me as the car left.
...
Silence followed, save for the distant sound of passing cars.
"Pssssst! Ichika! Have they left?"
"Yeah, you can come out now, Dad."
All Might stepped out from his hiding spot, letting out a hearty laugh.
"Hahaha!"He flexed his muscles beside me in a pose.
"She's such a good girl."
(Img<<<)
I sighed.
"Maybe not."
I began walking down the street, and All Might followed, looking around to make sure no one was watching. He then deflated himself and fell in step beside me.
"Huh? Why? I don't think she's suspicious. She just wants to be friends with you."
"She's the only one who approached me in class, despite my twisted behavior. I'm just being cautious around her. I have a suspicion that she might be involved with All for One. She could be spying on me and reporting my movements to that evil bastard."
"What makes you suspect her? She's just a kid like you."
"What a naive way of thinking, All Might. Let me tell you something... The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies—it comes from your friends and loved ones. That's why you have to be careful."
"What about me and Mirko? Why did you trust us, Falcon?"
I grinned.
"You and Rumi are a bunch of muscleheads. It's easy to trust people who are that straightforward."
"What a mean way of describing us."
"Well, I'll gather more intel on her later and make my judgment. Until then, I still have to be cautious."
"No wonder I've been getting calls from your school about your bad attitude. It's strange though... you were quite friendly at your old school. I've also heard reports that all the kids in the orphanage loved you."
"Yeah, I acted like that because of my suspicions about her. She might be a traitor. And now, you even revealed to her that we're family."
"I apologize for that, but what if your assumptions are wrong? What if she's actually innocent? What will you do?"
"That's..."(That's a problem... I haven't watched the whole series because it's still ongoing. I didn't read the manga, so I wouldn't spoil the story. Now, I'm stuck in this world, not knowing what will happen after Shigaraki fought Re-Destro...).
(A friend of mine spoiled me over the phone during my training camp. He told me that Toru was the traitor, and it was confirmed in the manga.)
(Now that I'm reincarnated here, I'm cautious. She might be the traitor, so I've been cold and distant with her. I've been keeping to myself to avoid getting too involved in any potential trouble...)
(But... Toru's family seems so warm. The chances of her being a traitor seem low... unless... she hasn't met him yet.)(Wait—All for One is bedridden. There's no reason for Toru to meet him. The chances of them crossing paths are very unlikely.)
"Ugh... There's just so much to think about."
My head started hurting from all the overthinking.
"I guess you're thinking about it too deeply," All Might said, looking concerned."I'll find the answer after I get the intel from the old barkeeper tonight."
(To be continued)
A/N: I have the high ground! I'll fix my mistakes later.
