Ian Lockwood glanced at his now-chatty sister, giving her a look that warned her not to add fuel to the fire. Then, he turned to Victor Morgan and said, "Vera went to the jail to find Luna Warner. She said she wants to get to the bottom of what happened back then."
Hearing this, Victor Morgan felt a pang of guilt. He had originally planned to tell Vera everything, but the return of his "goddess" from all those years ago had made him push Vera's matter to the back of his mind.
'Is it because I don't love Vera enough?'
How could he have let something so important slide? He even found himself not wanting Vera to know about it. Because when Victor saw the goddess of his heart, he realized she still occupied a place deep inside him.
If Vera found out now, the two of them would naturally get together. That was what Victor had originally wanted. 'But now, why has everything changed?'
