Vera Warner couldn't just sit by and wait for the worst. After learning Chloe Warner's location, she could hardly sit still.
Especially when she saw that Lucy White, the organization's brainwashing specialist, was personally with her daughter. Vera knew she couldn't wait a moment longer. She had to find her daughter as quickly as possible.
Ian Lockwood replied gravely, "Vera, that's too dangerous. The island is surrounded by boats. If you go rushing in like that and they spot you, they'll almost certainly take Chloe away for good."
Vera frowned, her voice tinged with frustration and anxiety. "I've thought of that, but I can't wait any longer. Help me figure something out. Even if you can just get me close to the island, that's enough. I'll swim ashore and rescue her myself."
Ian Lockwood didn't understand who these people were. 'It's not like they're child traffickers, so why take her to an island like this?'
