Victor Morgan was deeply displeased by his father's words. His face cold, he tried to sit up, causing Vera Warner to rush forward and stop him.
"Everyone, please stop talking about this for now," Vera said urgently. "Victor just had major surgery. He suffered severe trauma to his chest and head. If he gets agitated again, the situation could become extremely dangerous. Besides, moving around like this could tear his stitches, which would be a huge problem."
Vera Warner's intervention made Victor Morgan pause for a moment. Sylvia Schuyler was also frantic, quickly pressing down on Victor's shoulders to keep him from moving.
"Victor, don't get excited. Let's talk things out calmly. You just woke up, I can't let anything happen to you!" Sylvia said, then shamelessly turned to face the others, addressing them with the air of the lady of the house.
Sylvia continued, "I'll stay here and take care of Victor. Mr. Morgan, Miss Warner, you should all go home for now."
