The next morning, Vera Warner and the attending physician were ready. They wheeled Victor Morgan into the operating room and began the delicate surgery.
Vera hadn't slept a wink the entire night, her mind replaying every step of the procedure. She had to ensure it was absolutely foolproof.
After a long three-hour surgery, everything was progressing well. But just as it came time to suture the wound, word suddenly arrived that Vera's house was on fire. With both her children at home, how could Vera possibly remain calm?
