Victor Morgan had no time to waste. After hearing Ian Lockwood's objection, he immediately launched an investigation.
"You have a point. I have to stay calm, I can't let anything go wrong. I'll arrange for an investigation right now. As soon as we confirm the situation, I'll move."
Seeing he couldn't stop him, Ian Lockwood could only agree. "I can help look after Vera while you're gone, but you have to come back safely. I have friends who are experts on these kinds of poisons. I'll take you to meet them. They can give you some information that might help you find the antidote."
"That would be perfect. I will find the antidote."
As he spoke, Victor Morgan caressed the small vial of poison still in his hand. It was what was left of the potion Vera had, a portion of which had already been sent for analysis.
Victor Morgan had kept the rest. He figured that with the poison in hand, identifying the antidote should be much easier.
