Vera immediately agreed with a nod, praising Victor Morgan for how thoughtful he had become.
"Then it's a date. I'll keep an eye on the schedule and plan it for when they have time off."
Victor desperately wanted her to go back home with him, but he knew Vera's personality too well. Even if he asked her right now, she wouldn't agree.
Perhaps it was best to let her live the way she wanted for now and wait for the day she decided to come back on her own.
The two of them strolled around for a while longer before Victor finally took her home. Although neither wanted to part, they understood that keeping some distance for now was for the best.
"Vera, I was very happy today. I hope we'll have more opportunities like this in the future."
Vera smiled gently. It was rare for them to get along so harmoniously. "I had a great time, too. I officially start work tomorrow, so I have a lot to do. I should head back."
