Mrs. Ellison was delighted that Vera Warner had agreed so readily.
The main reason she'd asked earlier if Victor Morgan was home was that she didn't want him to think she was deliberately placing a relative within the company.
That wouldn't look good.
"Vera, don't worry. She won't get any special treatment. She'll go through the standard interview process, and if she's not a good fit, then that's that."
"If she passes the interview, we'll just see what positions are open, and she can fill one of them."
"Well then, it's settled. I'll be going now."
With that, Mrs. Ellison stood up to leave. She had no intention of letting Lydia Ellison get any special treatment; everything would follow the company's standard procedures.
Still, she was her niece, after all, so she felt it was necessary to give Vera a heads-up.
"Of course. Take care."
"Just have the girl come straight to the office tomorrow."
"Someone will be here to handle her interview."
