After lunch, I followed Martha outside the school. As I was about to reach her, my phone rang. I turned around to answer it. I looked at the id caller. It was Brian.
I forgot about him and I answered his call. I looked back to see if Martha was still there, but she disappeared ,I shrugged and went back to school.
"Where are you?"
"Am still in school ,i have one more class before the day ends,"
"I sighed as I walked towards my class."
Luckily, both the teacher and I came at the same time. We both entered the class and he started his lesson , after an hour later the class ended and I texted Brian.
As I walked towards the parking lot, my phone rang, I assumed a call from Brian, but it wasn't.
It was from one of my mom's assistants,she called to inform me about my mom's arrival next weekend.
It's been months since I last saw her, since my dad is never around to keep me company am mostly by myself and servants who always busy with their tasks.
"Hello miss, your mom is coming back home in a few days," she informed us as usual.
Sometimes, I wonder if my mom is actually my real mom or if she's someone else's mom. She never treats me like her daughter. Rather, she talks to me like an employee.
I wasn't surprised about the information as I am used to it. Even if she comes, she draws herself to work. No one would think she's a mother, only a serious businesswoman.
I was neither excited nor upset, I looked at the phone and put it back in my pocket.
I waited at the parking lot for Brian to come, but he didn't. I looked at my phone to see any text from him, but he didn't send me any.
Later on, I saw him coming out of the school with his cousin, and they were chatting as they walked towards me.
"Hey, why didn't you text me?"
"Oh!sorry was i supposed to?"
"I... I thought you were.... did you forget you were going to take me to see your mom?"
"Oh sh*t I forgot, can I take you next time? It's just that I have a shift to do today, and alvaro was taking me to see tonight's game,"
"OK, yeah, no problem. I just thought you were taking me today, but since you have another plan, I guess it next time,"
"Thanks for understanding, I promise next time, see you tomorrow, alright?"
He then left with his cousin, and I went to get Martha, who happened to disappear as I was answering my phone.
I looked around the campus but I couldn't see her, she then appeared out of nowhere.
"Samra, why are you still here?" She asked as she put the same envelope in her bag.
"I could ask you the same. Where did you disappear to?"
"I...I was talking to a friend, why?"
"Well...um... nothing ... I need to tell you something. "
"OK, what is it?"
"Guess who is coming back after months of no contact?"
"Who? Your dad, grandma,your favourite idol?
"No,not him ,not my grandma, and what do you mean, my idol? i don't have time for the joke like, for real, be serious, mate,"
"OK, I am serious. I have no idea."
"The MAJESTIC QUEEN, my mom,she happens to inform me to go home, and she didn't even bother to greet me."
"That's unexpected. Why did she ask you to be home? Did something happen?"
"She doesn't even act like a mom,she only asked for my presence, so uncalled for"
"Wait, weren't you supposed to be with Brian? How are you here?"
"Yeah, I was,but he had some work, and he was going to spend time with alvaro," I said.
"Really,why didn't you tell me about it, i wanted to join them," she whined.
"What's with the whining? Aren't you supposed to stay away from him? Besides, what makes you so sure he'll accept your invite?"
"In case you forgot, I accepted to be friends with him,so if I asked, I am sure he wouldn't mind."
"Let them be for now, and besides, they already left, and I didn't join them either, and neither should you,they already had plans to spend time together,"
"I know that's why I want to join them. Let's hurry, and didn't you want to spend time with Brian?"
"True, but I don't think it's a good idea to follow them if they didn't even invite us. Don't you think it's inappropriate to do this?"
"I don't understand why you want an invite when you can just follow them?"
"I don't want to ruin their plans, and besides, what's fun about it?"
"We can pretend that we didn't know they were there and act surprised who knows they might change their mind."
"You really don't know how to quit, huh?"
"Its not like we're planning to ruin their fun,besides, you can use your chance to talk to him alone while I distract alvaro."
"Sounds like a great idea, but still I don't think it's ok. Besides, weren't you against me spending time with him, and now this?"
"I know i can be a bit judgemental and now am ok with it, so are we going or what?"
"Fine, but if I get caught, you're going to pay understood?"
As much as I wanted to disagree with her idea,it wasn't that I didn't expect him to change his plan, and he wanted to spend time with his cousin, so I just nodded.
And now Martha wants to join them,knowing that she has her plan of her own, I agreed to the idea.
We quickly got in my car, and we followed them to an arena where there was a race car happening.
Brian and alvaro walked to a group of boys and some girls who were standing next to race cars.
As we approached the crowd and passed by as they cheered and screamed, I saw alvaro greeting one of the boys and walking towards a blue Porsche and entered it.
The crowd cheered so loud that I couldn't hear anything. Martha grabbed my arm, and we stood in front of the crowd watching the race as three more cars line-up.
My heart skipped a bit when my eyes landed on Brian. He was in one of the cars,I couldn't believe it.
As the crowd screaming, the gun was shot and the race began, all the time I was hoping nothing bad happened as I wasn't expecting to witness this....
