"Please calm down, my lords. We are messengers delivering letters to the nobles. We have just come from the frontier with important news. We have the noble lords' decree!" one middle-aged man quickly explained.
The city defense soldiers relaxed their vigilance, as in recent days, the nobility had maintained close ties with the frontier forces, so entering the city at night was not entirely unreasonable.
