Chester picked up Rachel, tenderly kissed her on the face, "Good girl, Uncle missed you too."
Rachel hugged Chester's strong neck, mumbling, "Mommy said you left, I thought you would never come back..."
A flock of crows flew over Alice Robinson's head. Now that there was an "Uncle," ignoring her "Mommy" was one thing, but now even complaining to her "Uncle" about her? Indeed, daughters could be ungrateful.
"Uncle promised to bring you gifts back, so why would he break his word to you?"
