Alice swallowed the bitterness that was stuck in her throat and resolutely broke free from Chester's grip.
"I don't mean anything by it. I just feel that there are some things you need to think about carefully, and so do I. Living my whole life in a vague manner is not what I want."
Chester held back the urge to pull his hair, suppressed his anger, and coaxed with utmost patience, "Do you think I'm going to live a vague life with you?"
He couldn't understand why she was overthinking all of a sudden; he really couldn't fathom her heart.
Alice glanced at him, a twinge of pain flashing in her eyes, yet she calmly and casually said, "Rachel is sleeping. We shouldn't wake her up to see us argue for the first time."
Chester's face turned ashen, his thin lips barely moved, "Fine, we'll talk later."
Returning home, as soon as Alice had placed Rachel on the bed, Chester couldn't resist pulling Alice out of the children's room.
