Since Fan Mingjue had dinner at Yun Hezhi's house, he was frequently "reproached" by his wife when he got home for going out for a walk only to end up eating and drinking at someone else's house, reeking of alcohol, and being sent back home. How embarrassing!
Fan Mingjue wasn't sure how he ended up drinking so much, considering Yun Hezhi and that lad named Zheng Lansheng both needed to protect their voices and weren't drinkers, yet they took turns filling his glass.
Yun Hezhi: "Uncle, I apologize for not being able to drink with you as much as I'd like. Allow me to toast you with tea instead, feel free to drink how you see fit."
Should he have accepted the drink?
The main thing was, the liquor was indeed excellent, not only did he drink, but he took it down in one gulp, thoroughly drained.
Then Zheng Lansheng turned up with a glass:
"Uncle, what happened today was a misunderstanding, please don't take it to heart, I toast to you."
Should he drink the apologetic glass?
