The Barrett family elders were planning to hold a banquet without his approval, and he knew why they were doing it.
The problem was not the banquet itself, but the guests. Holden Barrett didn't know who else might show up.
The guests could be family friends from various family backgrounds, and Holden Barrett didn't trust them at all.
He suspected there could be spies sent by other families, which could lead to a major problem. Neither the White Silver Faction nor the Dark Silver Faction in the Silver Tower would like this.
The main reason for the event was to gather information regarding the mission. Holden Barrett felt that his family had lost trust in him, though he didn't know why.
