Meredith's POV
The door creaked open, and the sterile scent of the hospital room mingled with the hushed urgency in Matthew's voice as he exclaimed, "Meredith, oh my God, you are finally awake!" His words sliced through the heavy air, carrying a mixture of relief and anxiety.
Drago, concealed behind the cold veneer of a clinical mask once again, whispered in a voice that betrayed no emotions, "I will be back, baby girl. Be a good girl." The mask shielded his identity.
Matthew, clad in the guise of genuine concern, turned to Drago who was dressed as a doctor, "How is she, doctor?" he inquired about my condition. However, Drago remained silent, he offered no solace or information leaving an air of mystery in his wake as he retreated from the room. As the door clicked shut,
