Lex sat in his chair, thinking about some things. Specifically, he pondered over the peculiarities of his current predicament, testing to see if he could find any indication that any one of the hundred Dao Lords he had recently met had targeted him in any way.

Anita and Qawain had helped him defend the Inn time and time again, not to mention that they had played an integral role in running the Inn. Lex had even learned a bit about swords from Qawain. When they adopted the baby Cthulhu, they became the first parents among the Inn workers, and so naturally that created added to their relationship.
