"You've done it." Ayami's voice snapped him out of it. Her voice trembled as her hand desperately clung onto him, "You've freed us."
Asahi froze, his eyes stuck at the dark bottom where Akira had disappeared. There was nothing he could see.
"From the curse..." Ayami's words sobered him up.
The very next second, his legs gave out, and he broke down completely.
"What have I done...?"
His voice cracked.
"What have I done?!"
The words tore out of him now.
Ayami tightened her hold around him.
"Stop," she whispered, her voice trembling just enough to sound real. "…you didn't mean to."
"I pushed him!"
He tried to lunge forward again, but his legs did not cooperate.
"I pushed him..."
His fingers clawed at the ground, dragging himself toward the edge, as if he could still reach him somehow.
"Asahi!"
Ayami pulled him back harder this time, forcing his body against hers.
"He might still be alive!"
