Inside the pool hall.
Chester Sawyer glanced at his sister, then at the young employee nearby. "Is there a crash course for pool?"
"No." The young man shook his head.
There was no such thing as a crash course for pool; it all came down to talent. Someone with a natural gift might just learn a little faster.
"Sis, why don't we just run for it?"
"And how would we do that?" Sydney Sawyer chuckled softly. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Shayla Talbot, who had been sitting nearby, walk toward Casey Huxley. There was another girl with her, and from the way they interacted, they were probably good friends.
"Casey Huxley, just let it go. After all, in the future, they'll be..."
"This has nothing to do with you. I don't need you telling me what to do," Casey Huxley retorted, his tone anything but friendly.
"I heard Sharp treats her really well. If he finds out about this..."
"You think I'm afraid of him?!"
He looked as if he feared nothing in heaven or on earth.
