Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

The pack finally witnessed Drake's full range of abilities during another Alpha Pack attack.

The twins ambushed Lydia near the hospital.

Scott and Derek responded first.

Then Kali arrived.

Then Ennis.

The fight turned disastrous almost immediately.

Scott got separated.

Derek injured.

Jackson pinned.

And Lydia trapped beneath collapsing debris.

Kali smiled cruelly.

"Looks like your monster isn't here to save you."

Then the hospital lights died.

Every machine shut off simultaneously.

Silence consumed the building.

And the shadows moved.

Not naturally.

Purposefully.

The Alpha Pack froze instantly.

Because the darkness itself began walking toward them.

Drake emerged from the shadows slowly.

Not entering the hallway.

Manifesting from it.

His eyes resembled entire galaxies collapsing inward now.

Reality distorted around every step.

Kali actually stepped backward.

"…No."

Drake ignored her completely.

His focus locked onto the trapped Lydia.

One small gesture—

And the collapsed debris simply ceased existing.

Not moved.

Gone.

Everyone stared.

Drake helped Lydia stand gently.

"You okay?"

Lydia looked overwhelmed.

"…You erased matter."

Drake blinked.

"…That sounds dramatic when phrased like that."

Ennis roared and attacked blindly.

Drake finally looked toward him.

The Alpha stopped midair instantly.

Frozen.

Like reality itself refused to let him move.

Fear filled Ennis's eyes.

Drake tilted his head slightly.

"You keep choosing violence despite overwhelming evidence it's a bad strategy."

Then he casually redirected gravity.

Ennis launched upward through three floors of the hospital.

The building shook violently.

Scott stared openly.

"…Okay maybe we're cheating."

Nearby the twins slowly backed away.

Derek looked equally disturbed and impressed.

Peter looked delighted.

"See? THIS is why I joined the pack."

Kali tried one final attack.

Fast.

Deadly.

Desperate.

Drake sighed softly.

Then time stopped.

Not metaphorically.

Actually stopped.

Everyone froze completely except Drake and Ciri.

The entire world became motionless.

Rain hung suspended outside the windows.

Heartbeats paused.

Sound vanished.

Ciri stared at him carefully.

"…You can manipulate time now."

Drake looked deeply uncomfortable.

"…Apparently."

Kali remained frozen inches away from him.

Terrified.

Aware.

Unable to move.

Drake gently pushed her forehead backward with one finger.

Then restarted time.

Kali flew across the hospital instantly.

Straight through a concrete wall.

Silence followed.

Then Stiles spoke carefully.

"…I would like it officially documented that Drake is the scariest person alive."

Death's voice echoed softly from the shadows nearby.

"No."

Everyone turned.

Death smiled faintly at Drake.

"He is far older than that."

The Alpha Pack surrendered quietly.

Not publicly.

Not dramatically.

Just intelligently.

There was no winning against Drake.

Not permanently.

The meeting happened at the edge of the preserve beneath cold moonlight.

Scott's pack stood opposite the remaining Alphas.

Scott.

Derek.

Jackson.

Isaac.

Peter.

Boyd.

Erica.

And Drake beside Ciri near the trees.

The atmosphere remained tense.

But different now.

Not war.

Resolution.

Deucalion stepped forward slowly.

For the first time since arriving in Beacon Hills—

The Demon Wolf looked tired.

"We miscalculated."

Peter immediately burst out laughing.

"That's one way to phrase cosmic annihilation."

Kali shot him a murderous look.

Peter smiled wider.

Drake's eyes remained calm now.

Stable.

Less fractured.

He'd finally stopped fighting his own existence every second.

Deucalion tilted his head toward Scott.

"You truly became a True Alpha."

Scott crossed his arms carefully.

"…Yeah."

"And your pack survived."

Scott glanced toward Drake briefly.

"Together."

Deucalion noticed the look instantly.

Interesting.

The True Alpha led the pack emotionally.

But Drake?

Drake protected its soul.

The blind Alpha smiled faintly.

"You've already become something far more dangerous than us."

Scott frowned.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

Deucalion looked toward the entire group.

"A united pack."

Silence followed.

Because unfortunately—

He wasn't wrong.

Kali stepped forward next reluctantly.

"We're leaving Beacon Hills."

Jackson looked delighted.

"Oh thank God."

The twins exchanged awkward glances.

Then Ethan quietly spoke.

"…Not all of us."

Everyone looked at him.

Aiden sighed heavily.

"We're staying."

Derek blinked.

"…Why?"

Ethan looked toward Jackson.

Then Lydia.

Then Scott.

Finally toward Drake.

"Because this place feels different."

Peter snorted.

"Emotionally healthier werewolves. Disgusting."

Drake actually smiled slightly.

The Alpha Pack war was ending.

Finally.

Life became quieter afterward.

Well.

Quieter by Beacon Hills standards.

Which still included weekly supernatural incidents and at least one explosion every month.

But the constant war ended.

No more ambushes.

No more Alpha Pack attacks.

No more Deucalion manipulating everyone psychologically.

For the first time in months—

The pack could breathe.

And Drake finally began learning control.

Actual control.

Turns out accepting his nature helped significantly.

The accidental reality fractures stopped happening daily.

Gravity no longer collapsed every time he got annoyed.

And he could now consciously suppress most of his cosmic aura.

Mostly.

Birds still avoided him occasionally.

Baby steps.

Training became routine afterward.

Derek helped him refine combat restraint.

Lydia helped him understand veil disturbances.

Scott practiced balancing Alpha instincts beside him.

And Ciri?

Ciri helped with everything else.

Especially grounding him emotionally whenever old memories resurfaced.

One afternoon the two of them sat on the roof of the loft watching the sunset quietly.

Drake rested against the railing while Ciri laid beside him reading.

Comfortable silence.

Then Drake suddenly lifted one hand slowly.

The air in front of him distorted instantly.

Ciri lowered her book immediately.

"…Drake."

Space folded inward.

Like invisible fabric twisting unnaturally.

Then—

A crack opened in reality itself.

Small.

Circular.

Glowing silver-blue around the edges.

On the other side—

Another sky.

Different stars.

Different world.

Ciri sat upright instantly.

"…You just opened a dimensional rift."

Drake stared at it carefully.

"…That feels concerning."

The portal flickered slightly.

He could feel it instinctively.

Distance.

Possibility.

Infinite worlds brushing against each other.

Then he closed his hand.

The rift sealed instantly.

Silence followed.

Ciri stared openly now.

"You realize what this means, right?"

Drake looked deeply tired already.

"That my life is somehow becoming MORE complicated?"

"Yes."

"…Fantastic."

But beneath the sarcasm—

Curiosity awakened.

Because for the first time since regaining his memories—

Drake realized he wasn't trapped by them anymore.

There were other worlds.

Other realities.

Possibilities beyond endless destruction.

And somehow—

That felt hopeful.
