Chapter 78 - Ice Empress Armour.

Once the thick cloud of dust was cleared, the beautiful figure of the silver-haired Fox Nikita graced everyone's eyes.

Despite being hit with all those projectile-type spells, there was not a single burn on her smooth, milky white skin; her long, straight, silky silver hair went down her back like a waterfall.

However, despite coming back from all those high-level spells in one piece, her beautiful and angelic facial features were contorted into a sullen frown.

"Tch, bastards, look at what you did to my dress! I do hope you all will take responsibility for this?!"

Nikita said with a voice that was filled with power, her killing intent spreading far and wide, filling the room.

The sound of someone gulping resounded when feeling her murderous intent. What made everyone more in awe was the sight of Nikita's gorgeous figure, which was highlighted by her dress. The dress that clung tightly around her body was tattered.

While she was able to deal with most of the projectile spells and protect her body from being harmed, her dress suffered a heavy price.

And thus, her mood had been ruined, her cleavage was slightly exposed, and the hem of her dress was now torn, exposing her robust white thigh.

"Hahaha... just a fluke, don't act all arrogant just because you came out unscathed. Let me teach you what happens when you anger the wrong person."

A man wearing what seems like silver armour came out of the crowd of adventurers with two short swords. His green hair was slightly long and covered most of his face.

However, Nikita simply ignored him. She wasn't in the mood for her dress in its current condition.

"Che, are you ignoring me? Such insolence. Perhaps you should rethink your impulsive decision."

He said while sneering at Nikita, who hadn't looked or even registered his presence since he started talking. Seeing that he frowned.

Whoosh~

The sound of something soaring through the air sounded. And for an instant, Nikita felt the killing intent of someone, but she didn't care enough to even look at them even once.

Suddenly, her fox ear twitched, and she abruptly tilted her head to the side and in a flash, the sound of raging wind swooped past her ears.

"Oh my....Fufufu! To be able to dodge something like that, you demi-humans really are frightening. Aren't you?"

Another man dressed in black clothing said. In his hand were two daggers. Nikita, who was still observing her tattered dressed suddenly turned to look at the man.

"Sigh, you cockroaches really need to learn your place."

She said while glaring at the men. Instantly, two ice swords materialise inside her hands. The green-haired man kicked off the ground and, using the momentum of his fall, swung his short swords towards her hand, hoping to disarm her.

However, Nikita parried his strike with a single swing of her sword. The sound of metal rang out as sparks flew.

While their weapons were locked together, Nikita swung her right foot with great force.

"Tch."

The green-haired man clicked his tongue as his armour was easily shattered by Nikita's kick. Though the surface of the armour was cracked, her feet failed to do any kind of damage to the inner parts of the armour.

Sensing that her kick didn't make it through, Nikita furrowed her brow in displeasure, when....

Swoosh!

A shadow fell over her head as the black-coated man appeared and thrust his dagger into her back. Sensing the impending danger, she used her second sword to stop his dagger from reaching her, but...

"Fufufu... what are you going to do now that both of your arms are locked?"

The black-coated man asked while chuckling. In an instant, he thrust the dagger in his left hand towards Nikita's shoulder blade.

"Guh."

A small groan escaped her mouth as his dagger pierced through her shoulder, fresh blood trickled down, staining her already tattered dress.

She put more strength into her sword, which was locked together with the green-haired man. His body was sent flying backwards by the powerful force.

"Tch."

He rolled on the ground before getting onto his feet. Meanwhile, Nikita hurriedly decided to take distance from them.

Once she was at a fair enough distance, she grabbed the pommel of the dagger and pulled the blade that was inserted inside her shoulder.

"Hah...hah."

She breathes heavily, causing her ample breasts to rise and fall as she grunts from the pain in her shoulder. While glaring at the black-coated man.

(Something is wrong, I couldn't feel his presence just now. Aside from the powerful killing intent. I couldn't even pick up his scent)

Nikita narrowed her crimson eyes as she observed the black-coated man standing before her cautiously.

The man noticed Nikita's glare, and while chuckling, his figure vanished from her field of view.

"!!!"

"Gah!"

A loud cry escaped Nikitas's mouth as her chest was pierced through from behind. Blood trickled down her cherry lips.

"Tch, how are you doing this?"

She asked while swinging her sword. Before her sword could reach the black-coated man once again vanished from her field of view and reappeared ten steps away.

It was strange that his body kept disappearing then reappearing without a word. She tried using her nose and ears, but got no results. It was as if he were blending in with reality itself.

(Is it teleport? No, it can't be, I felt no disruption of space and... if it really was magic, then there would have been a magic circle. Furthermore, he would've left a scent behind)

Nikita took deep breaths to calm her nerves as she thought about various possibilities.

It's not teleportation, she had once heard from Alya that humans' affinity with space magic was rather poor, which means.

"Hey, tell me, do you have a gift or artefact that allows you to hide your presence or something?"

Nikita inquired curiously. Hearing Nikita's question, his eyes widened slightly as his mouth perked upwards.

"Fufufu... not bad, your observation is most impressive. You are correct, I have a gift called the 'stealthy king' which allows me to blend in with the surroundings, something similar to camouflage. And I'm also in possession of an artefact that allows me to hide my scent."

He explained.

"Assassinations are my job after all, my gift is perfect for those kinds of things, wouldn't you agree?"

He further added.

Hearing this, Nikita's crimson eyes widen faintly.

(He can blend in with his surroundings and hide his presence; isn't that the same as invisibility?)

Nikita thought as her face contorted somewhat bitterly. It's going to be difficult to avoid attacks that are difficult to predict; all she could do was sense his faint killing intent.

"A gift that allows you to blend in with your surroundings and an artefact that hides your scent. Huh, that's quite impressive. I must say you're very versatile."

Nikita gave her honest praise. If that's the case, then....

(Then I guess holding back would be a mistake)

"I'll go all out from here."

She said in a serious tone. At that moment, the atmosphere became tense as the room temperature suddenly dropped.

The point where Nikita stood suddenly froze and turned to ice. As ice gathered around her body, what seemed like armour made entirely out of ice was formed.

The secret technique from the silver fox clan, the silver fox race, out of every race in this world, was the best at manipulating the ice element. That was bestowed by the 'Ice goddess' Khione over past centuries, the silver fox had been developing different techniques that best fit their species.

Fox was cunning, agile, and their physical strength was absolute. They created the secret art 'Ice empress armour,' or 'Ice emperor armour.' Only those who are naturally talented can achieve this kind of form.

On her back were two wings that were made from lightning, accompanied by her ice armour that was exquisite enough to be compared favourably with even the most expensive-looking armour forged by human hands.

And making her seem more like a 'Goddess', a long sword materialised in her hands as she readied herself to face the black-coated man. He said while laughing cheekily as though enjoying himself.

"Oh my, that is a cute armour, I wonder how its durability is."

He said while observing the armour that clung to her body. Nikita's crimson eyes narrowed dangerously at that.

"You want to know how durable it is, you say. In that case, why don't you try firsthand?"

She said before her right foot sprang forward. A gentle wind brushed against her face as she swung her sword with monstrous strength. The loud sound of cutting wind sounded.

"!!!"

Sparks flew as her sword was stopped by the green-haired man who suddenly appeared between them.

Though Nikita's movement didn't falter as she put more strength into her sword, their weapons clashed.

"Haha... to think such monstrous strength could exist in such delicate hands, why don't you become my woman. Though the boss seems to want a piece of you."

The green-haired man said, even as his body was getting overwhelmed by her physical strength. Nikita sneered as she heard his provocative words.

Of course, she wasn't a child who would easily get provoked by such childish words.

The two continued to exchange blows to everyone's bewilderment, each time their weapons clashed, a loud metallic sound reverberated, and thunderous shockwaves would burst forth from their exchange.

Nikita used a combination of swordsmanship and martial arts that caused her long silver hair to flutter gracefully.

Meanwhile, the green-haired man was having a terrible time dealing with all her attacks that were aimed at either his abdomen or his neck. Her attacks were truly merciless.

Nikita swung her sword horizontally while the green-haired man swung his vertically. Sparks flew as their blades clashed together.

Their battle was so fierce that no one could intervene and lend support to the green-haired man, who, despite smiling, cold beads of sweat could be seen trickling down his brow.

Even now, the sound of their clash continued to reach the entire room.

Clang!

A loud metallic sound echoed inside the vicinity as they separated from each other. Nikita and the green-haired man were panting heavily, trying to get their ragged breaths under control.

The green-haired man looked at his chest and saw that a piece of his silver armour was completely gone, exposing his dark leather coat.

Meanwhile, the black-coated man exchanged eye contact with Bai. The two seem to have come to a secret mutual agreement from that exchange.

(Sigh, her physical strength really is scary. My armour is made from adamantium, but she easily broke through. huh, I guess winning this alone isn't going to be possible after all)

He thought with a serious expression, and soon a dark shadow swooped down from behind Nikita and a dagger was thrust forward.

"!!!"

The hand of the black-coated man was stopped by Nikita's silver tail that coiled around his hand like a snake catching its prey.

"I must say that the ability to hide your presence is most impressive. What's the point when you allow your killing intent to be detected?"

Nikita asked while tilting her head.

"Fufufu... It did allow you to lower your guard even if it was just a little bit."

".... Wha?"

"!!!"

From behind her, a large figure appeared and swung his sword downwards. Nikita's lightning wings both spread wide as she tried to dodge.

Boom!!!

Rumble!!....

The ground where Nikita once stood was utterly destroyed, leaving a thick cloud of dust covering the area.

"Ngh, sneaking up behind and attacking me when I lower my guard, don't you people have at least a little bit of decency?"

Nikita muttered in frustration. Her left hand was covering her right shoulder. Her ice armour was shattered. There was a large quantity of blood flowing endlessly there. Hearing her words, Bai sneered coldly.

"Have decency, you say? This is a battle, isn't it? There is no right or wrong in a battle, nor are there any rules to follow. All that mattered in the end was to win and survive. At first, I wanted to have you as my woman, but I changed my mind that green-haired woman would suit me better."

Bai said, gazing at Nikita coldly.

"Oh, is that so? Unfortunately, I don't like insolent fools like you."

A sharp, yet cold voice sounded. At that, everyone turned their heads towards the source of the voice.

A gentle breeze gathers by the window that shows the outside, starless night sky. A fairy-like beauty who seems to be in her mid-teens appeared.

Her long, silky green hair was loose and flowed down her back, while her emerald eyes shone like the most expensive emerald gemstone. Her dress freely dances with the movement of her body.

"Tch, Alya, why are you here? Didn't I say I would handle everything on my own?"

"Fufufu... Didn't Haruto say you shouldn't take too long? Besides, weren't you the one who was cornered in such a precarious situation just now?"

Alya inquired somewhat mockingly. Hearing that, Nikita's face crumpled as she gritted her white pearly teeth.

"What are you talking about? I had everything under control!"

"Ara, Is that so?"

Alya gently placed her hand at her mouth in a graceful manner while attentively observing the battered state of Nikita's body.

Her ice armour was shattered to the point that you could easily see the tattered state of her dress underneath, and the ice armour on her shoulder was cracked, and blood was flowing out of it.

Alya narrowed her emerald eyes and tilted her head as if to say. 'Are you sure about that?' seeing that Nikita clenched her fist in irritation.

"In any case, I had already planned on dealing with this lowlife once Haruto wasn't around. Now then, who wants to be first?"

Alya asked as her emerald eyes shone dangerously.
