"N-No—No! You can't have fun, Xander. Something will bite you inside the water, just like something is biting mommy inside the water!" I said in a panicked voice and Xander stepped backwards, fear evident in her eyes for the first time.
Honestly, this is the first time I'm seeing my stubborn daughter scared and it kind of makes me excited.
I mean, this is the same kid that wasn't scared of a wendigo.
"Heh. S-Something will bite me?" She asked in a low voice, now scared to her wits but she didn't leave.
"Yes. That's why me and mommy are trying to find what is biting us. Once we find it, you can jump into the pool and join us," I said and Xander's face widened.
"Alright, dad!" She agreed but was still staring at us curiously.
I moved my legs, swimming to the corner of the swimming pool with Zella still wrapped around me, then pressed her back against the edge and raised her legs under the water.
