As soon as Pine finished speaking, Nathaniel Hughes had already returned, with a cigarette in his mouth. He tapped on the window beside Pine and said, "Put the gun away."
Then he sat back, exhaled a puff of smoke, and offered the cigarette pack to Charlotte Allison, asking, "Want one?"
Charlotte Allison ignored him, and Nathaniel naturally put the pack away again.
"Hughes, you're giving her way too much face!" Pine respected Nathaniel Hughes, and seeing Charlotte Allison's attitude toward him along the way made him feel very stifled.
"Hughes, if you don't want her dead, I'll avoid her vital spots and shoot. I guarantee it'll hurt but won't kill!"
Pine didn't put his gun away, looking Charlotte Allison up and down, with the muzzle landing on her shoulder.
Faced with Pine's outburst, Charlotte Allison gazed at the dark muzzle with deep eyes, her emotions still unperturbed.
Frustrated by her expressionless face, Pine really pulled the trigger to shoot.
