Watching the Undead Tribe members take various postures, even going so far as to swallow potions for fast swimming to quickly shuttle through the seabed, Hill very generously waited in the air for them for an entire day before speaking to return to the city.
To Hill's pleasant surprise, not a single member of the Undead Tribe mentioned plans to "die back" so that Hill didn't have to wait. Instead, they all climbed up the vines hanging from the Cloud Platform within half an hour of Hill's voice reaching their ears.
Therefore, on the way back to the city, Hill even let them watch a battle between a sea monster and some sharks... which were obviously from the Triton faction.
Otherwise, ordinary marine creatures, even those without intelligence, would quickly flee at the sight of a sea monster.
Without Triton's protection and blessing, encountering a sea monster meant not just being unable to fight back and becoming food but actually being transformed into one of them.
