As she spoke, she turned and walked toward the cabinet, intending to take out a blanket. Before her hand could touch the cabinet, a man's voice stopped her from behind—
"No need. If I let you sleep on the couch, would I still be a man?"
His words sounded like a joke, but when Tracy turned around, she saw his face was unusually serious. She knew he wasn't joking, so she returned to the side of the bed.
She understood his temperament; his refusal meant there was no room for negotiation, so she didn't insist. She lay back on the bed.
After lying quietly for a while, she heard the man turning over, and she couldn't resist anymore. She suddenly sat up and said with furrowed brows, "If you don't mind, then sleep on the bed. It's big enough. I won't touch you..."
She spoke with confidence at first, but her voice grew softer toward the end.
