Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: A Relieved Soul

[+18]

The pink neon had burned out long ago.

Only the faint city glow and moonlight filtering through the frosted glass remained, painting slow-moving shadows across the ruined back office that had become Mary's entire world.

The couch beneath them was destroyed, its leather slick with sweat, squirt, and endless thick ropes of cum that still leaked from her in slow, rhythmic pulses.

Every few seconds, her womb clenched in its sleep, and another warm gush slipped out of her swollen, gaping pussy, rolling down the curve of her ass, over the blooming handprints and bruises, adding to the obscene puddle that had spread across half the floor.

This was the same couch she had slept on every single night for the last four years, the only "bed" she could afford after pouring every saved penny and taking out a crushing bank loan to open this tiny convenience store.

She had lived, eaten, cried, and slept right here, curled beneath a single thin blanket while the neon sign buzzed overhead and the city kept moving without her.

Mary lay curled in Alex's lap now, trembling through the aftershocks, her cheek pressed to his chest, her arms wrapped so tightly around his waist that it hurt.

Her thighs were still spread wide, too exhausted and too ruined to close. She was shaking, small, continuous tremors that had nothing to do with the cold and everything to do with the storm that had just torn through her chest, leaving nothing behind except him.

Alex's arms were locked around her so tightly that she could feel his heartbeat against her own. His cock lay half-hard against his stomach, still slick, still twitching whenever her ruined pussy drooled another thick ribbon of his seed onto his skin.

Neither of them had spoken in almost ten minutes. Lust was wearing off, and their usual natures were returning.

"..."

"..."

Only the wet sound of cum dripping, the soft creak of ruined leather, and their slowing breaths filled the room.

Mary finally lifted her head.

Her honey-brown eyes were red-rimmed and glassy, glowing softly and relaxed now, locked on him as though he were the only fixed point left in the universe.

"I just realized I don't even know your name," she whispered, her voice shredded raw.

"Alex."

"Alex... Alex," she repeated, tasting the name like communion. A tear slipped free. "I haven't said a man's name like that... since the night they told me he was gone."

Another full-body shiver. Another thick gush of cum leaked from her, warm against his thigh.

Alex cupped her face gently, his thumbs stroking away her tears. After forming the bond between them, he could feel the weight inside her chest.

"Tell me," he said quietly. "All of it. I want to carry it with you."

Mary laughed once, small, wet, and completely broken. Then she curled tighter against him and let the story pour out like blood from a wound that had never been allowed to heal.

"How... do I even start..."

She told him about the childhood no one had ever saved her from.

How her father had been a drunk long before she could spell the word.

How her first memory was of a belt across her back at age four for spilling a glass of beer.

How her mother worked two cleaning jobs and came home with bleeding knuckles and eyes that never quite focused on her daughter anymore.

How, at seven years old, she learned to hide in the crawl space beneath the house whenever the shouting started.

How, at twelve, she came home from school to find her mother hanging from the bathroom door, still wearing her maid uniform, with a note pinned to her chest that read, "I'm finally sleeping."

How the state put her in a children's nursing home, where the older kids taught her what hands could do when no one was watching. Even among abandoned, miserable kids, their hearts were filled with cruelty and violence.

How she ran away at fifteen with nothing but a backpack and a black eye from the foster father who said she "owed him" for the food.

How, at eighteen, she met him, the man who smiled at her in a diner, paid for her coffee, and told her she was beautiful when no one ever had.

How he felt like salvation.

How he married her quickly, promised her the world, and gave her a daughter she named Ash.

How, for a little while, it was good.

A happy time that lasted far too little.

The business failed.

Then the drinking and drugs started.

Then the gambling.

Then the first time he hit her hard enough to split her lip.

Then the nights she locked herself and baby Ash in the bathroom while he raged.

Then the night he came home drunk, took the car keys, told her he was going to "win it all back," cursed at Ash, and never came home.

Head-on collision.

Wrong side of the highway.

Police at the door at 3:14 a.m.

Ash, only six years old, asking why Daddy was sleeping under a sheet.

How the debts swallowed the house, the car, every penny.

How she buried him in a pauper's grave because there was nothing left.

How she sold everything she owned, took out a crushing loan, and opened this tiny convenience store just to keep a roof overhead.

How she and Ash had lived in the store rooms ever since, Mary on this very couch every night and Ash in the next room. The room was meant for staff, but Mary couldn't afford to hire anyone. Both of them shared the same silence.

How Ash grew up watching her mother work fifteen-hour days, come home with bleeding feet, and cry in the shower so her daughter wouldn't hear.

How Ash learned to hate her the same way Mary once hated herself.

How Ash, now eighteen, was still living with her, but spoke to her mother only in monosyllables, no longer calling her "Mom," just Mary.

Her eyes were full of the same exhausted resentment Mary saw in the mirror every morning.

Mary told him all of it in a voice that cracked and bled, sobbing so hard her entire body shook, her fists clenched against his chest, tears and snot soaking his skin, cum still dripping from her womb in slow, rhythmic pulses like her body was weeping in tandem with her soul.

Alex never let go.

He held her through every word, his arms locked so tightly around her shaking frame that she could feel his heartbeat against her own. He rocked her gently, pressed kisses to her hair, her temple, and the tears on her cheeks. When the sobs turned into dry heaves, he rubbed slow circles on her back and whispered, "You're safe now. I've got you," over and over until the words sank into her bones.

When there was nothing left to tell, Mary was hollowed out, limp and empty in the way only total catharsis could leave a person.

She lay against him, trembling.

Alex shifted them carefully until she was fully in his lap, her legs wrapped around his waist and her face buried in his neck. He stroked her back in long, soothing lines, his fingers tracing every bruise he'd left as though he were rewriting her scars with tenderness.

"I'm here," he whispered into her hair. "I'm not a stranger. You don't have to be strong anymore. You don't have to do this alone. I've got you, Mary."

He could feel the strong thread connecting their hearts, an unbreakable bond. Alex truly cared for the woman he had met only a few hours ago.

They both felt that inseparable link.

She made a broken sound and clung harder, her fingers digging into his shoulders as though she were terrified he would vanish.

He kissed her then, slowly and deliberately, pouring every ounce of warmth and safety he had into her mouth.

Mary melted completely.

A soft, wounded moan vibrated against his lips as love, real, sudden, gentle, and unbreakable, flooded every cracked and bleeding place inside her chest. Years of abuse, abandonment, and grief dissolved beneath the weight of being held, being seen, and being promised tomorrow.

She started crying again, but this time it was quiet, cleansing, relieved. Tears soaked both their faces as she kissed him back with everything she had left, her legs tightening around his waist, not caring that she was still leaking him in thick pulses with every tiny movement.

When they finally broke apart, she was glowing through the tears, her eyes shining with absolute trust.

"Then stay with me forever," she whispered, her voice small and cracked open. "Please stay. I don't know how to be wanted. Let me wake up tomorrow and know I wasn't just dreaming the whole night. Let me believe, just once, that I'm allowed to be happy. That Ash and I are allowed to be happy."

Alex pressed his forehead to hers, his thumbs stroking the tears from her cheeks.

"I can assure you it's not a dream, Mary. You're my woman. You belong to me, and I will share the burden with you."

Mary let out a sound that was half sob, half relieved laugh, and collapsed against him, clinging as though he were the only thing keeping her from falling apart completely.

For the first time in her entire life, she fell asleep feeling completely safe.
