Da Boss stood at the top of the spire, above him Yodark was sending green blasts in every direction. Da Boyz were krumpin' everyone in the spire and in the surrounding towers. Or perhaps they were being krumped. Da Boss did not know and did not care. What he cared about was that his master plan had gone south. He did not like that, but he had to work with it.
So he observed and thought. To help himself with that, he grabbed da Dakka he had used to shoot that Blue Nob and started blasting everything around the spire.
During this thinking process, something caught his attention in the distance. A great patch of yellow with smoky towers. With a quiet snap of brilliance, he murmured three words.
"It's da go juice refinery."And a desert.
When he realized that, his smile got bigger, and he immediately knew what he was going to do. It was time to hit da dunes, or da road.
"Boyz! We'z gonna go fer da dunes down south!" he roared so loudly that almost every Ork in the vicinity could hear him. "ZORKO! Gather da Boyz and loot me trucks! We'z goin' fer dat go juice over dere!"
Zorko said nothing, only nodded and went down the spire.
Yodark, in the meantime, said, "Boss, ya know I could teleport us back to Deef Star with the loot, roight?"
But Da Boss did not hear him through the Dakka and his own roaring, because he was excited about the prospect of going fast.
The orders reached the Meks right when they were stripping the cooling installation from the main reactor to make it go red. Luckily, this stopped them from pushing the last button.
Mauork, after receiving the orders through the radio, abandoned the loot and took all the trucks he could find to go to the city. Of course, he did not forget to booby-trap the entire installation.
For himself, he chose a silent Blue Git hover-truck, or something like that. He already had a few upgrades in mind. A louder exhaust, to begin with.
Overall, this sudden change in plans confused the local citizens and then terrified them, because Oggaz, in his excitement, found a giant eight-wheeler truck. After putting a few drums on it, he started blasting Goff Rock so loudly that the entire hive city started vibrating.
Preparations lasted for three days. Three days of wanton looting and plundering devastated the city. The defenders also had no idea what was going on because the Orks were skipping strategic points of interest. The most confused were the Tau Fire Caste, since in their notes, Orks loved to get close and personal, while these ones were using hit-and-run tactics, targeting seemingly random points at random times and places.
This did not even count as proper insurgency tactics.
But there was still hope, as reinforcements were soon to arrive.
On the Ork side, Trakk, as Chief Speedster, was overseeing the modifications being installed on the looted vehicles. The most common ones were drilled-out mufflers and bigger tires.
Da Boss was also preparing for a ride. He personally looted an Imperial Guard truck and ordered his chief Meks to build upon it.
His ride had to have two radiators at the front, placed side by side, and a checkered wheel in the middle. The engine was swapped for a larger one, and a steel throne with flamethrowers looping like afterburners was placed on top.
Furthermore, two rotary Dakkas were mounted on the bonnet, while a rocket artillery launcher was installed in the back.
There were lots of rockets.
Of course, ya could not forget about the big red button. When pushed, the whole Wagoon would jump forward and roar like a Squigoth. Flames would shoot from the back, while the turbos would roar and suck in so much air they could probably suck in a Grot.
Da Boss liked it very much. He looked at his creation for a long moment before giving it a proper name.
Big Mean Wagoon.
