"Don't walk away from me like that," the man hissed.
The woman spun around sharply. "Then stop treating me like I'm stupid!"
"You embarrassed me downstairs."
"Oh please," she scoffed. "You were too busy flirting with that blonde to even notice I left."
The man lowered his voice, irritated. "You're being dramatic."
"And you're old enough to be my father!" She snapped back.
Scarlett blinked slowly.
Ezra quietly muttered near her ear, "Well… this feels familiar."
Scarlett elbowed him immediately. "Ezra."
"What? I'm just saying."
The younger woman suddenly noticed them standing nearby and looked embarrassed. The older man followed her gaze and straightened awkwardly.
"Sorry," he muttered stiffly before grabbing the girl's wrist. "Come inside."
She yanked her arm back. "Stop doing that!"
Ezra's expression darkened instantly at the sight.
The man noticed. "Mind your business."
Ezra took one calm step forward. "Then keep your hands to yourself."
The hallway fell silent.
