The Dark Fay took Arges giant head, with smiles on all their faces and bowed to Hades. Pleased with the outcome.
Cara stands in front on Bronte her chromatic eyes gleaming as much as a robots could, yet the giant himself looks more perturbed than anything. His brother had just been beheaded, and given away like a holiday present to the mysterious Dark Fay.
He had been told what had occurred prior, his massacre inflicted to the Dark Fay and he knew it wouldn't be up to Hades when it came to paying for lives lost, but he had not expected such a.. torture. It reminded him of Tartarus, the powerlessness his brother must be feeling... He couldnt help him now. Bronte resolved himself quickly. His mind made up, he would ensure this would never happen again, starting with keeping Steropes in check.
...
Hades stood at the center of the room, when Mourndrel approached. "Thank you my lord, justice has been served today.. Now, how soon are you able to receive my daughter, the sooner the better I imagine?" He said a tint of excitement shining through the millennia old Dark Fay.
Hades replied to him half mindedly, "Yes of course, Cara can go with you to get her." Cara was his right hand woman at this point, ready to do anything and everything he needed done that he didn't want to do himself. And she did a damn good job too. She had single handedly developed an acolyte based intelligence network all along Greece, and was already working to expand to neighboring regions, she's the one who negotiated and handled the Dark fay and she's the one who managed the tournaments that created his horsemen. Now that he thinks about it she really does deserve a reward for all her hard work, but what would he even get her, she was a robot after all. Then again, she has been looking at him more and more recently, that glint in her eye becoming a little more than pure focus that fully encapsulated her in the beginning, now it had a hint of lust. Maybe a date perhaps? It was a tempting thought to bring Cara to his bed, but he didn't want to fuck a robot, no, he wanted to fuck her.
Solidifying the plan in his head to get more intimate with his assistant, he leaves the throne room, the dark fay having left quickly and Hades saw no reason to have a chat with Bronte, he thinks his message was clear enough. His word was law; his interests were paramount and not even swearing on the river Styx will save them should they grow bigger than their boots.
He strides gracefully down the ornate black and gold hallways like he owned the place, which he did in all fairness. Until he arrives on a massive double door similar to his own, however instead of being etched with depictions of good and evil, this one was inscribed with the destruction of worlds, or the annihilation of species and life, of natural disasters and man-made calamities... of Apocalypse.
He was not... upset, with the results of his Horsemen's mission, they had achieved success when it came to testing Jesus while they had failed to kill the king of Jerusalem. But it worked out in his favor in the end. King Solomon was an interesting fellow supposedly a strong sorcerer and a hoarder of magical Artifacts. But he wasn't really concerned about king Solomon, what he cared about is the connection his horsemen could establish, trade, commerce, ties to the Christian religion if it was real here, would reap incredible benefits.
But playing diplomat or reconnaissance wasn't what he created his horsemen for. Admittedly sending them on a mission directly after obtaining their weapons was a bit hasty of him, as in hindsight they would've gained much more experience during the battle against Odin.
Bringing both hands up he slowly pushes the door open, the open training field greeting him. Although connected to the main palace, the Valordictorium was built similar to a regular parthenon, however only the edges were encapsulated by the ceiling the center open to the ashy sky.
Two figures fought in the center of the field, their weapons leaving deep trenches in the rugged ground. Killian stood to one side, leaning against a pillar, watching the duel with a distant gaze.
Hades approached him slowly, silent and hidden. He was behind him in moments and Mirin was none the wiser. If he wanted to he could kill him with a simple slash of his hand. Instead of death however, he was met with Hades imposing voice.
"How are they doing?" He said standing next to him, eyes on their duel.
Mirin jumped slightly, caught off guard before he realized who Hades was. Coughing into his hand he responded.
" Good, my lord, good... I hope we did not disappoint too severely." He said eyes flickering to the ground.
Hades continued looking forward, his face calm and neutral, the clanking sound of their weapons the only audible thing.
Mirins breath caught, before Hades finally spoke.
"You did not. I will admit that the mission I sent you all on, required a different type of expertise. So I am proud to see how well you did." He rested his hand on Mirins shoulder, for just a moment.
"Tell me more about Jerusalem, and the King." Hades said, eyes toward the field.
Mirin responded a second later, "It.. went well my lord. All things considered we did not have much to work on. The first night we found shelter without incident however; the next day Xenia had her whip stolen by a street orphan, quickly resorting to her spartan traditions when it comes the thievery. Which is when Jesus appeared, we tried to appraise his strength, yet once forced into confrontation, proved we were no match for him. Strangely he didn't display any magic or powers, just.. prowess." Hades then interrupted him-
"Oh he has powers. Though I don't know if he has combat powers, he has the ability to control nature, summon food, heal people and even resurrect them from what I've heard all of which can be easily explained by being a prophet or, blessed by a God."
"Yes, we didn't use any of our own magic on him either due to the close surroundings and the risk of unwanted attention. After our fight with Jesus I dragged Xenia and Killian back to the inn, and after they woke up we went to kill the king, which is when I witnessed his remarkable reasoning and diplomacy skills. Deciding that you would perhaps prefer him an ally than a corpse. I am happy that I was correct, my lord."
"I am also glad your gut was correct. Using your own discretion when it comes to this was a good choice, I admit I was not entirely clear with the mission and its parameters of success. The next one will not be like that, and I need to know you will follow orders." Hades turned his head away from the field and the two figures fighting, his eyes looking down into Mirins own black orbs for any hint of deceit.
Mirin, stiffened from the weight of his gaze, firmly saying, "Without hesitation Lord Hades."
"Good" Hades responded.
Then he stepped from the shaded outer ring of the Valordictorum, the bright blue sun instantly shining down onto his olive skin. Mirin followed close behind.
In an instant, Xenia and Killian withdrew themselves at the sight of him, weapons retracted or sheathed as they stand at attention.
"My lord!" They kneel in sync, fist pounding on their chest. Hades stood tall in the field, towering over them at an imposing 9ft the blue sun casting his long shadow. His fiery, charcoal orbs gazed at the two of them, having already settled Mirins concerns he feels he should do the same for them.
"You may rise. Mirin has briefed me on your mission, and to say I am pleased would be an understatement."
