That howl just now seemed to be near only. But I knew it was coming from afar.
"It's so dark."
My eyes were open, but it felt as though my eyes were still closed because of how dark was the surrounding.
"Grr…"
With that low growl, I suddenly felt a foreboding feeling. That wasn't from me. I quickly glanced around, trying to peer in the dark.
A second after the growl, in the dark, something lit up. They were red in color and pair by pair. In my mind, I knew for certain that those were beasts' red eyes!
Oh my! I am surrounded! I exclaimed internally. How did I not even hear their approach?
"How did it happen?" I questioned. I was wondering how they were able to approach me without causing a slight noise.
If only I knew they could do that, I would rather use the 'Mind Eye' ability. A pugilist technique that could sense 'Physical Force' from a living being. Every living organism had it no matter what world it was. I am sure of it.
Without a second thought, I summoned a little bit of mana in my eyes. The pupil in my eyes suddenly turned to 'Magic Circles'.
This magic circle is also known as a 'Spell Gate'. Without it, a magician could not cast any spell. That is why magicians were taught first about magic circles and had them memorize all the kinds of magic circles before they were taught how to cast spells properly.
Kudos to Lucius for being knowledgeable in it. If not, even if I knew so many kinds of spells, it would be impossible for me to cast them if I didn't know the right magic circle I needed.
Every world had different 'Laws of Magic', so it was very important to familiarize them before learning to cast spells.
Like how would you teach a child how to write when he/she didn't know the alphabet?
With Lucius' memories in me, there's nothing to worry about. Now I feel bad for calling him an idiot.
After turning my pupils in my eyes to a pair of magic circles, my surroundings became slightly brighter.
This skill was known as 'Night Vision'. A very unique basic ability that I learned at my first reincarnation in a different world. Looking at the owner of those eyes, Dire Wolves!? I screamed inwardly.
Three Dire Wolves leaped at me at the same time. Hastily applying another layer of 'Physical Force' on my body, I jumped out of my stand.
Right after I jumped away, (Bam!) A loud crash happened. The three 'Dire Wolves' landed in the area where I was sitting just now.
"Damn, they're so impatient," I mumbled.
After leaping away, I found myself still in the air. That leap wasn't ordinary. It was an ability I called 'Lunar Jump'. It enables me to jump like I was on the moon. Regardless, another layer of 'Physical Force' enveloped my body. But then again, only those with exceptional eyes could see the aura around me.
They looked like another layer of skins.
I used 'Lunar Jump' to increase the power of my leap while channeling my weight. This was one of the abilities I mainly used in a battle inside an area such as this forest.
The only downside of using 'Physical Force' was that it was very stamina-consuming.
Based on Lucius' memories, 'Dire Wolves' belonged to E-rank monsters. It was a rank below 'Mad Boars'.
But although they were lower in rank, they were much more difficult to deal with than 'Mad Boar'. All because of their sheer numbers. Just like in Lucius' memories, they were also here with their pact.
It looked like they didn't give up on chasing after him. I wanted to ask them how angry they were with Lucius. Unfortunately for them, it wasn't just the idiot, Lucius, who was in front of them.
I smirked.
Even before my feet could touch anything, I used my min version of 'Blazing'.
Any spell, no matter the tier, has min and max. It was up to the caster how strong they wanted to cast their spells.
This time, I only used the min amount of that spell. It also meant lower effects but also lower mana consumption. It only cost 10 points of mana.
A magic circle appeared below me, then fire swirled from it.
After activating the 'Blazing' spell, I could feel my fire element become stronger. I quickly pointed my palm to the three 'Dire Wolves' that attacked me.
A magic circle appeared before my palm. It was smaller. The size of a plate only. Then from it, a 'Fireball' shot straight towards those three. They could not even evade it as the 'Fireball' shot like a comet.
(Boom!)
An explosion shook the area and brightened up the place. (Aworgh!) The three 'Dire Wolves' cried out in pain. They were blasted, and also was burning.
Even if they survived that 'Fireball' attack, the sticky fire from 'Blazing' could kill them for sure.
Seeing the fire arising, the other 'Dire Wolves' looked surprised. It seemed they didn't anticipate the power of that attack and also, they felt scared when they saw the fire eating their comrades alive.

They started howling noisily while advancing and retreating. Even I, could not comprehend their actions.
When my feet landed on the tree trunk. I kicked it and moved towards the next tree where I saw a branch. I need something I could perch on.

My feet landed on the tree branch very smoothly. I looked down and saw the 'Dire Wolves' look agitated. The three 'Dire Wolves' were squirming furiously, trying to get rid off of the fires.
"That's useless."
Huff~ I sucked air in my mouth.
I noticed my breathing seemed heavy already. Well. Using two abilities that were consuming 'Physical Force' at the same time in this kind of body which have weak constitutions, was truly inappropriate.
It didn't take long for the prompts to appear right in front of my eyes.
With these prompts, I noticed the three 'Dire Wolves' finally sprawled on the ground with their bodies still on fire. Seeing their comrades in that state, the others retreated away.
I caught sight of one of them.
"Heh! I won't let you…"
Before it could leave, I quickly focused my palm on it, then I shot it.
"Fireball!" I chanted.
Another 'Fireball' had shot like a comet, illuminating the area on its path in a second before another explosion rang in the place.
