It was quiet.
Peering outside of the police cruiser, I saw kids in costumes run about through their neigborhood, trying to get home as fast as they could.
Slicking my hair back, I turned around to see Laurie, Karen, and Ray sitting in the back of the police cruiser. Karen's phone rang, with it reading as "Unknown caller."
"Hello? Allyson? Thank God you're all right. Where are you?"
I couldn't hear all of what Allyson said, but I knew she was talking about her close encounter with her grand-uncle. Karens face was filled with a varity of emotions as she listened. Shock, Worry, Anger, Fear, etc.
"Ok, we'll see you soon then. Please be careful still."
I could hear the sound of slight crying coming from Karen, making the mood of the car a bit awkward. I glanced over my shoulder to see Laurie and Ray comforting Karen as she continued to cry.
I turned back to the window, my relfection staring back at me.
People are dying out there.
I don't know how many lives were lost but I couldn't help but feel gloomy at the situation. This wasn't something that the John Wick preset could stop ether. During my time here I noticed that I was more pragmatic and calm in whatever situation I was in. Those corpses I saw, I was able to compose myself almost instantly, but still struggle with my internal thinking.
I could only guess that the John Wick preset had limits on John's mental fortitude, and my own mental strength was still needed. Hence why I'm not the stone cold killer that could kill people and not bat and eye.
The thought of all those people dying was hitting me hard, even though I wasn't the one killing them.
Shaking my head, I turned to another question I had:
What even is the system?
I think it's time for some answers.
'Hey system.'
{Yes?}
Huh, it can be summoned by a mental call. Interesting.
'What even are you?'
{WARNING: You are attempting to access Paragon information, your hunter level is not yet verified to access Paragon level information.}
'Not yet verifed huh?'
Half-expected a answer like this. It logically wouldn't make any sense for a newbie like me to have access to information like that, that's just basic security.
'So I have to hunt down more anomalies to get a higher hunter level then, correct?'
{Correct. The more you hunt down, the higher your hunter level will increase.}
{Granted, the requirements to level up your hunter level will also increase. Stronger anomalies will be needed to be hunted down.}
'That's not a concern right now, but what are the hunter levels?'
{Hunter level's are broken down into tiers:
1. Initiate
2. Apprentice
3. Journeyman
4. Champion
5. Vanguard
6. Sentinel
7. Guardian
8. Emissary
9. Maestro
10. Paragon
You are currently in the process of becoming a Initiate hunter.}
Man.
I don't even have a level yet, but now I know what to do.
I'm going to kill Micheal Myers.
I'm going to kill him and help this poor town out.
But I'll have to wait on killing him
The police cruiser arrived at Laurie's gated property. A overhead spotlight illuminated the area. All of us except for the officer driving the car got out of the cruiser. Laurie walked over to a small device and entered a password, whcih let the security gate opened.
"We'll drop you off here and wait at the gate for your friend. We have an officer on the scene in contact with her."
The officer waved us off as we entered Lauries house.
I didn't really pay attention when I was first here but her house is seriously stacked, with multiple locks and reinforcements.
We stepped inside, Karen staring at the house with a hint of nostalga in her eyes.
"Home is where the heart is, right, Laurie?"
Rays attempts at teasing Laurie went unheard. Laurie's expression remains serious. She and Karen walked over to the kitchen.
"It's ok man."
Patting Ray's back, I walked over to see Laurie and Karen opening a hidden door in the kitchen island, revealing an underground shelter. Ray was right next to me as we were both interested.
"What's this?"
"My childhood."
Karen descended into the shelter, with Me, Laurie and Ray following her. I was greeted with a pretty good looking living space filled with food and weapons. Walking over to a safe, Laurie typed in a code and opened it, revealing a massive rack of guns.
Laurie walked over and picked up a rifle from the gun rack.
"Pick your poison. Do you need small caliber defense, semi-automatic ballistics with brownout rounds, a shotgun for tactical operations or a rifle with accuracy and stopping power?"
Ray looked confused as Karen looked at her mom with a serious look.
"Was this all needed? Just for him?"
Lauire looked at Karen, nothing else except a cold stare was plastered on it.
"He's waited for this night. He's waited for me, and I've been waiting for him."
Allyson POV:
Allyson was currently standing with a few of her neighbors. She was lucky that they were at home and were kind enough to let her in and use there phone. She was able to call her mom and the police which helped calm her down just a bit.
A police car pulled up in front of her nieghbors house, and a officer stepped out. She ran up to him immediately and distressed.
"Officer! I saw him. My friend was attacked! He came out of nowhere..."
The officer patted her shoulder as she took a deep breath.
"Take a deep breath, Allyson. My name is officer Hawkins. You're going to be all right. Just breathe."
"I'm going to take you to your family, they're in a safe location and we'll also keep you safe. Let's get into my car so we can go see your family ok?"
He guided Allyson to the police car as she thanked her neighbors for their help.
Getting inside of the car, Allyson saw a strange older man in the front seat.
"Allyson this is Dr. Sartain, he was Micheal Myer's psychiatrist. Unfortunetly he was hurt by Micheal, but he's been helping us with trying to find Micheal.
Dr. Sartain gave Allyson a gentle smile as he waved through the partition.
"Nice to meet you dear."
"Uh you to."
Hawkins started the car up as they drove away.
A few minutes pass as Hawkins spoke into his radio.
"601 to dispatch. I'm en route with a witness."
"Copy 601. Suspect last seen on 11th Avenue, South of Bypass."
She could finally relax, the past half hour had been scarring so she was glad to take a break. Looking through the front windshield, Allyson eyes widened as she let out a screeam.
"Look out!"
Hawkins saw a tall man in a jumpsuit and a white mask only a few meters away, causing him swerve a bit. His eyes widened as he realized who that was.
"Hold on!"
Hawkins sped up the car and nailed Micheal right on his side, sending him tumbling to the ground.
Hawkin's stopped the car as he and Dr. Sartain got out the vehicle. Allyson was terrifed and was only able to stand outside of the car.
"Stay in the car Allyson!"
Of course she would! Why would she not?
Looking up, she saw Hawkins and the doctor approach the body of Micheal. Hawkin had his gun raised at Micheals body as the doctor check his pulse.
"He's alive."
"Not for long. Stand back."
"Officer Hawkins, please don't kill my patient."
"Get out of the way, doctor!"
She was confused on why the doctor was trying to save Micheal's life, even after he killed a person and almost killed her. She could only watch, but she suddenly saw Sartain clicking a pen, revealing a hidden blade. The doctor stood in front of Micheal, his back stopping Hawkins from shooting him.
"Step aside, or I'll shoot!"
He couldn't see the doctors weapon at all.
Before Hawkin's could react, the doctor swiftly turned around and stabbed him in the neck with the pen blade, forcing Hawkins to the ground.
Allyson could only stare in hour as Hawkin's struggled to move.
Sartain calmly turned to Allyson, speaking to her in a gentle tone.
"Don't move, Young lady. Do not scream. Stay where you are."
Allyson was terrifed, all she could do was wait and see what Sartain would do now.
Sartain stood over Hawkins' body, removing his pen blade from his neck, blood spewing everywhere over Sartain. He again turned to Allyson in the car. He gave her the same kind smile he gave her earlier.
"Don't be afraid, Allyson. You're safe now."
He crouched down, going out Allysons veiw. She moved away from side of the car instinctively, as if something even worse was about to happen. She could see Sartain standing back up in front of the car.
He was wearing Micheal's mask.
Seeing the mask made Allyson huddle up in the car, her screams filling it.
Sartain started to scream with her, banging on the roof of the car and causing Allyson to stop screaming. He stared at her, making her start to beg at him.
" Please... Don't..."
Sartain slowly walked up to her window. He stared at Allyson, making a "shush" finger on the mask, as he then walked over to Micheal. He picked up Micheal and started to drag him over to the car.
She saw all of this, panic ensuing.
"No! please no! Please!"
Sartain awkwardly lifted the unconscious Micheal into the back seat with Allyson, Micheal's body leaning on her. Micheal greasy hair touching her face.
"Make room my dear. Mindful of the patient."
"Are you with us, Micheal? Are you listening?"
Allyson struggled as she pushed Micheal's body off of her.
Sartain took off Micheal's mask and threw it in, landing between her and Micheal.
"NO! GET ME OUT OF HERE! HELP!"
She frantically tried to open her door, but nothing worked. Sartain only stared at her before geting in the front seat and driving off.
Allyson cowered against the door opposite to the maskless Micheal. His face was somehow always shrouded in the shadows, not allowing her to see his facial features.
She whimpered as Micheal jostled in his seat, slowly starting to slide down towards her. She used her feet to push his body away and back onto his side.
"Michael, I see why you are who you are. The sensation is obvious. The thrill is exhilarating. Loomis was a coward. He was afraid to travel to such depths for you. But I love you and I know you feel the same way. I freed you from those unwilling to understand you. Those of archaic mind."
"Let me go. Please."
Allyson tried to plead again, but Spartain only conintued to monlouge.
"The look on your face when you saw freedom? And then the carnage and confusion we created?"
She looked up at Sartain's eyes in the rearview mirror. He was watching her, with a cold, calculating, and perverse glint. A glint of madness suddenly flashed through his eyes.
"I'm glad we're together, Michael."
"Please... Where are you taking me?!
Sartain only let out a small chuckle at her question and continued to drive.
She could only huddle in her corner, staring out the window. She took a glance to her side, only to see the mask right next to her vanish. A strong sense of fear ran through her body as she slowly looked up at Micheal.
He was wearing his mask and staring right at her!
Before she could even scream, Micheal grabbed her hair and threw her into the passenger side door.
Micheal scooted back and lifted his leg, kicking his window out with his boot.
The car started to swerve out of control as Micheal broke more glass. Sartain had the car skid to a stop in the middle of a rural road.
Micheal started to thrash about in the car, breaking more and more of it.
Yet Sartain remained calm. He took a glance at police crusier that was guarding the gate to a house a hundred yards away.
Micheal kicked the car door on his side, sending it flying off. He slowly ot out of the car, making Allyson panic in the back seat. Micheal walked over to the driver's seat, ripping out the door and dragging Sartain out by his feet.
Micheal took a knee and began to gag Sartain against the pavement. A loudspeaker from the police car was heard by Micheal and Allyson.
"Hawkins, please respond."
Micheal stood up to see the approaching police car, letting Allyson make a escape and dash into the woods.
Micheal watch her go and then looked down to an injured Sartain at his feet.
"But you said I could watch."
Micheal only lifted his boot above Spartains head. Sartain turned his head and saw his own reflection in the metal side of the vehicle. A sick grin suddenly formed on his face.
"Do it."
Without a wait, Micheal stomped down. Sartain's skull didn't last a second, brain matter and blood splashed out, covering Micheal.
Allyson who had been running turned back, seeing Micheal staring down at his boot on Sartain's crushed skull.
POV change:
The police crusier had stopped a few meters away from Hawkins car. A officer walking out of the cruiser and turing on his headlight. The officer widened his eyes as he saw Micheal standing in a pool of crushed brain's and skull pieces everywhere.
"Hands where I can see 'um! DON'T MOVE!!!"
The officer pulled out his gun as he moved closer to Hawkins police car. Micheal was gone from sight somehow, even though the officer didn't take his eyes off of him. The officer made his way to Sartain's reamins to investigate.
But that would a mistake.
