Even Eccar, Aesa, and Sylven, who remained on the ground, could feel the overwhelming aura of power radiating from Nyssara's body.
"She changed again," Sylven said, his tone stiff as he struggled to keep his fear from showing.
Eccar and Aesa said nothing. They were too frozen to speak.
"Isn't this a violation of the oath?" Aesa finally asked. "Shouldn't she be suffering some kind of backlash?"
"She should be," Eccar replied. "I don't know how this oath actually works."
Eccar did not voice everything that was on his mind. He kept thinking about how Erend could possibly survive all of this. Yet somehow, he had a feeling that Erend's power, amplified by the Black Rage, was reaching a level of strength they had never witnessed before.
He was deeply worried about Erend. He remembered what the Ashen Tempest Dragon had said about the Black Rage and how it could eventually transform a Dragonborn into an evil being.
