In the light-screen footage, the camera shifted again. Apocalypse, Psylocke, and Storm arrived at an abandoned factory.
Inside was a special mutant—Warren Kenneth Worthington III. A wealthy heir and a mutant, he had a pair of pristine white feathered wings on his back, resembling an angel from myth and legend.
Earlier, Warren had sought thrills by fighting other mutants in underground arenas. In the end, intense electrical attacks destroyed half of his wings, dealing him a devastating blow.
When the trio arrived, Warren was drowning his despair in alcohol.
Psylocke glanced at him and shook her head in disappointment.
"Let's go. He's finished. He can't fight anymore."
As she spoke, Warren jumped down from above. In the past, he would have only needed a gentle flap of his wings to land gracefully.
But now he was a fallen angel. He still jumped down—but clumsily and awkwardly.
Apocalypse, however, was very satisfied.
"No. He is exactly the one I'm looking for."
He looked at Warren and said in a deep voice,
"I wish to give you a gift."
"You can't give me what I want," Warren replied, turning away and continuing to drink.
Then Apocalypse's eyes turned white.
Warren suddenly dropped to his knees. He felt a surging, overwhelming power raging inside his body—especially in his wings, which were undergoing a strange transformation.
His feathered wings turned into metallic wings. The shattered portion was silently restored, and more than that—the metal feathers could now be launched like razor blades!
Seeing this, Homelander couldn't help exclaiming,
"This ability… it's beautiful. I wonder—can he enhance people without limits?"
Tony Stark glanced at him and shrugged.
"I'd guess even mutants are bound by energy conservation. If he could enhance others without limit, then theoretically he'd be an omnipotent god—capable of destroying or creating worlds with a single thought. Still, honestly? This is way more convenient than something like the Infinity Stones…"
Apocalypse's enhancements were incredibly smooth. No injections. No pills. Maybe a little discomfort at first—then you instantly gained the power you'd always dreamed of.
Who wouldn't envy that?
Homelander was practically drooling.
The future footage shifted again—this time to Erik Lehnsherr.
Unshaven and expressionless, he returned to the steel factory. From his deadened eyes and demeanor, it was obvious—he was here for revenge.
"Someone here tipped off the police…"
The factory workers froze, putting down their tools. Fear spread across their faces.
Erik didn't seem angry—or rather, his rage had gone so far beyond the limit that it no longer showed.
He stared coldly at his former coworkers.
"You wanted to know my power. You wanted to know who I am. You wanted to know what I can do.
Fine. I'll show you.
Now, think carefully about those you love—your wives, your mothers… and your daughters."
When he mentioned "daughters," tears slid down Erik's face. The grief in his eyes was so profound that even through the screen, the players and viewers could feel it.
Natasha Romanoff sighed softly.
"I've realized something—even if he kills them, it's hard for me to hate him. He's a father and a husband who has lost everything."
Tony Stark shook his head.
"Erik's suffering deserves sympathy. But honestly, these are seeds he planted long ago."
"Heh…" Erik Lehnsherr laughed bitterly.
"Enough, Tony Stark. You don't understand anything. Did I plant those seeds?
No. Humanity forced them on me!
If human society had accepted mutants, many of these tragedies would never have happened in the first place!"
Tony looked at him and could only sigh.
In the footage, Erik suppressed his grief and spoke with hatred:
"Now they will experience the pain of losing their loved ones. And that pain will last forever!"
"Henry, please—don't do this," a coworker said, mustering the courage to step forward.
Erik shook his head.
"No. My name is not Henry. I am Magneto."
Once, he may have dreamed of living anonymously, burying the name "Magneto" forever.
But reality proved him wrong.
The moment he spoke the name, the entire factory began to shake. This was a steel plant—Magneto's domain.
At that moment, the footage paused, and a new question appeared:
[Did Erik Lehnsherr kill these workers?]
[A: Yes]
[B: No]
Homelander crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow.
"Is there even any suspense here? The answer's obvious."
The others exchanged looks. Based on the footage, Magneto's intent to kill seemed absolute—nothing could stop his revenge.
…Or maybe someone could.
Tony Stark stared thoughtfully at option B. Normally, the next scene should have been a massacre. Why ask this question at all—unless there was a twist?
He remembered that before Apocalypse found Caliban, Raven had gone there first. She learned of Magneto's tragedy and then went to find Professor X.
'Could it be that at the critical moment, Professor X intervened?'
Tony thought it very likely. After all, Erik wasn't wearing his helmet—he had no defense against Professor X's telepathy.
Tony exchanged a glance with Natasha. They reached an understanding without words.
Soon, the answer countdown began, and everyone slammed their buzzers.
Homelander won the right to answer. He grinned broadly.
"Ha! Natasha, wait for me to surpass you! I choose A!"
Erik Lehnsherr and Bruce Banner also chose A.
Tony smiled.
"Don't celebrate too early, Homelander. I choose B."
Natasha Romanoff also selected B.
The countdown ended, and the results appeared:
[Player Homelander — incorrect. −4 points]
[Player Erik Lehnsherr — incorrect. −1 point]
[Player Bruce Banner — incorrect. −1 point]
[Congratulations: Player Tony Stark — correct. +1 point]
[Congratulations: Player Natasha Romanoff — correct. +1 point]
