It's uncertain whether Feng Yuan and his group were just lucky, or because they went to bed quite early the night before, but they set out again early the next morning, just in time to catch the dense fog enveloping the Mist-Covered Mountain when they arrived at the Mist-Covered Village.
Initially, the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound was a bit reluctant to ascend the mountain at this time, as the thick fog could potentially drench its fur with morning dew if they forced their way through.
However, Feng Yuan paid little mind to this or perhaps he was fully aware that the mist here, much like the hot spring water the day before, though outwardly similar to regular water vapor, was indeed different from the natural kind.
This mist was one of the few agents that could clean Spirit Beasts loath to water. Of course, while the mist in Mist-Covered Village couldn't achieve a cleaning effect, it could yield a unique pure water if collected by special means.
