Chapter 3 - Rivalry

It had been a week since Julian and Asher arrived at the school. Since it was summer break, most of the students were either on vacation or back home with their families. Of the nearly 100 something students that were enrolled, only 17 were still at the school. Most of these other students were younger which meant that Julian and Asher didn't really want to hang around them.

The pair needed to train their powers under Emma and were roommates so it was only natural that they were the ones that saw each other the most. And they hated it.

"Bring it on, Twilight! I'm getting tired of your ass!"

"And I'm getting tired of you, Madagascar! We get it! You're the bad boy!"

"At least I'm not some emo-edgelord."

"Edgelords cut themselves. I cut up others. Want a demonstration?"

"If you can land a blow."

Emma watched as the two teens argued while dodging the attacks from the training Sentinel. Even though they were arguing with each other, they were able to not only dodge the blows from the Sentinel that gave more experienced students trouble but they were also landing blows on it.

Scott and Ororo walked into the observation platform and saw the same thing that Emma had been viewing. Each of them was impressed with the boys.

"Not bad. When we form the training squad, would love to have him join the Corsairs."

"Not so fast, Darling. I'm already letting you take care of the girls. These two are all mine."

Emma told a half-truth. Although she really did want both the boys, she wanted the girls to not just be around her and themselves. By forcing them to join Scott's squad, it meant that they would be forced to interact with other people.

*Boom*

Scott and Emma turned back to the Danger Room before seeing Asher crawling out of the fallen Sentinel's head.

"What happened?"

"Julian threw Asher at the Sentinel. The other boy then clawed through its head," Ororo explained. While she acknowledged that both boys were skilled, their personalities made them ill-suited for her squad.

"Damn you, Julian! I could have died!"

Julian spat towards the side to express his displeasure.

"Hmph! If you died from something like that, it just means that you aren't worthy of leading Ms. Frost's squad."

Asher jumped down from the Sentinel and began approaching Julian while the latter's eyes and hands began to glow green.

"Alright. That's enough both of you. Meet me on the back lawn in 10 minutes."

Emma made sure to cut in at the right moment. She was purposefully letting the duo have a tense relationship with one another while making sure that they didn't step over that final line.

"Tell me again why you are letting them fight like this instead of trying to correct them."

"What better way to become close friends than coming to blows with one another? Also, a good rivalry always helps one to improve faster in order to try and surpass the other."

Ororo nodded while Scott wanted to deny it but then he remembered Wolverine and shut his mouth. With both agreeing with her, Emma walked out of the observation deck to meet her two students on the back lawn.

Both Julian and Asher had managed to beat her there and were sitting next to each other on the chairs. Emma thought they had made up for a moment before realizing that if they sat next to each other like that, she could only sit near one of them unless the other got up.

'Boys,' Emma rolled her eyes mentally when she thought about how troublesome this pair of students was going to be for her.

Emma grabbed a seat and placed it in front of them. The moment she did, she heard both boys click their tongues.

Emma ignored them however and began to talk about the matters that she brought them out here for.

"You both have very powerful mutations. And as much as I wish I could help you reach your full potential with them, neither is my area of expertise. Which is why I have hired professional tutors for you both."

As soon as she said that, a black helicopter landed on the basketball course. When the blades stopped spinning, 4 figures emerged from it.

A man wearing a skull mask and a white hood, a man wearing silver samurai armor, a child in a black dress and with green hair, and lastly was a man that looked like Spider-Man that had a pair of katanas strapped to his back.

When the new group got next to them, Emma introduced both sides to each other.

"Julian, this is Tatsumaki. She is an incredibly powerful telekinetic that usually operates in Asia. Her power is not only similar to yours but she also produces a green aura as well when using it. She is here to teach you how to use it properly and also to its full potential."

Tatsumaki walked, no floated, over to Julian before looking his body up and down. Which was slightly difficult since she was only 4'8".

"Hmm. He seems pretty weak but since you are paying so much, I'll be sure to turn him into something half-decent, Frost."

Emma nodded before turning to Asher.

"Asher. These will be your tutors. Your mutation is unique. It works best with weapons but so you not only need to train its use with weapons but also how to properly use weapons yourself.

Taskmaster could be said to be the best martial artist on the planet. He is able to copy nearly any fighting style instantly and use it in combat. He will be your main tutor.

Deadpool has one of the few fighting styles that Taskmaster has never been able to copy. It is very unique and unpredictable. He will also be your tutor.

Lastly is Silver Samurai. His power is very similar to yours in how he coats his weapons. He will be teaching you how to use your powers and keep them stable while fighting with a sword."

"Like she said, Ashy-boy. I am the Merc with a Mouth and Spidey's lover, Deadpool. I'll be making sure that the training montage we have to go through during the summer vacation so the author doesn't have to do a super long training arc is interesting."

Asher turned his eyes toward Emma as if begging not to have to go through with Deadpool as his teacher but she ignored him.

"School starts in exactly 2 months, 1 week, and 3 days. You both have 2 months and 1 week to learn all you can from your tutors.

Your 4 are in charge of them. Train them as you see fit. All you need to do is make sure they live through the training and that you meet the standard I have set for you."

And with those words, Emma left her two students with their summer school teachers.
