Chapter 1097: Hatred and Self-Blame
Alwin would never fully understand the sorrow of a mother since he was a man, and he didn't really plan on having children, so he could not say he truly fully understood how much pain Empress Arabella had gone through.
What Alwin understood enough was the grief of losing people he cherished. Fermin and his lord. But he at least knew that they were still alive in their original bodies. The Empress did not have a clue back then, so Alwin could only imagine how much sorrow she had felt.
Yet, in his fury and frustration, he had blamed it all on her. He truly did hate her for a while even when he knew she was not solely to blame. Even in the past they lived, he knew she was not at fault.
Even back then, he knew he was largely to blame for not watching her more carefully because of his hatred against humans. He had been too biased and refused to accept her even after she had birthed his lord's son.
