Alwin was present in the next room when Clarisse gave birth. His role was to heal Clarisse immediately after she gave birth so she would recover much faster than usual.
But another important role was to stop Raymond from running to the room where Clarisse was.
Alwin had not been enough for that since Raymond was monstrously strong even in his human body. Thus, he had Riley guarding the door and windows despite already using spells to prevent Raymond from escaping.
Meanwhile, Alwin had to keep replacing the spells that kept Raymond in check. Every time Clarisse groaned in pain, Raymond broke one of the spells. When Clarisse began screaming in pain as she began to push, Raymond broke all the spells and successfully ran to the door, but Alwin and Riley cast spells at the same time to make him immobile.
