Chris was trying his best to hold himself from punching Dave in the nose. What the former was saying sounded ridiculous to him.
"I thought I announced to you all that I killed my wife and children with my hand, and then was I able to sustain this injury because they were also planning to kill me,"
"So, how is it possible that you saw my trash son that could not even do any harm to a fly still alive? Or are you trying to make me look stupid?!" Chris could not take anymore and stood up, kicking the table set before him as he approaches Dave.
"I swear... I'm telling you not but the truth, he was fighting my troops along with a...? Before Dave could do anything, he was picked up and slammed onto the floor.
"Not only did you claim that he is alive, but you also want me to believe that he has the power to fight your men, a group of people that were trained well!" Chris yelled.
There is no way he could believe that 'Peter' his son who he knows as know very well as a weakling, could not kill a fly and be now able to kill a human.
Meanwhile, Dave whose bones have been damaged and broken was laying on the floor while finding it hard to breathe, however, the ring in his hand glowed slightly as he could feel the energy being transmitted into his body. Soon, the bones were healing up through Chris and Skinny did not notice any of this.
Chris started to walk back to his chair. On reaching, Skinny who had not moved so far said in a respectful tone.
"I don't want to make you sound stupid sir, but they might be a possibility that what he is saying is true" Skinny said politely.
"Even you? You already believe in that crap?!" It was more of a yelling than a calm reply that Skinny got from Chris, however, this did not make him stop explaining himself.
"Look at it this way sir, this world had changed, things have been happening, things that we all could only see in the movies are happening, zombies, superhumans that can clone themselves into four, and even beasts, with all this happening, if one was to tell me a dead person raised again I would not doubt that" Skinny explained. However, Chris did not say anything and went back to his sit even though now they were no longer an office table in front.
Truth be told, Chris knew that what Skinny just said was true, it made a lot of sense to him because many things were currently happening in this world. The sudden appearance of superhumans which he wasn't sure was if it was true back then till eventually became one. Another was the crazy humans that feed on other humans' flesh, it didn't stop there, domestic animals were now evolving into wide animals and wide animals are evolving into something wider than they were before.
The reason why Chris wasn't saying anything and does not want to believe this was because he was afraid.
He was afraid that if Peter truly was still alive, then they are a high chance that he will become a superhuman, and if this was so, then surely he will be coming after him. As he was thinking about this, the bad thing he had done to both Peter, Nate, and their mother. Torture, punishment, starvation, and so on. They were all playing in his mind. This also increased the fear in his heart as they accelerate.
It was so high that both Skinny and Dave could hear it.
'This amount of heartbeat, if the boss was still an ordinary person he would have had a heart attack by now, but what is capable of making the boss worry to this extent?' Skinny thought as he stayed closer to his boss and was ready to help out at any time if something strange starts to happen.
The sweat on Chris's face was visible.
"I'm not inside that room but am I the only one that could tell the boss is scared, what is he afraid of," Red asked and all eyes were on Mia.
"Why are you guys looking at me?" Though Mia knows the reason, he still asked.
"Common, you are the only person that could read people's thoughts easily though not in detail form," Kai said. What he meant by not in detail form is that Mia can't actually tell what someone was thinking about but by looking at the person's expressions and body language, he could tell what was the person's next move and what might have caused the person to frown face.
"Fine, all I could think of is that he is afraid of Peter or whatever they call him"
Peter was someone close to Nate whom Kai and Mia never got to meet and had no idea who he was, but from the current body they are in now and from the memory, they were told that Peter was Nate's younger brother.
"That Peter is with Nate right, the last time from the memories when Nate killed the original owner of this body, we all could see that Peter was fighting with Nate and he was quite strong," Kai said as he search through the memories.
"That is what makes Nate dangerous right now, we can't go for him now because of the people surrounding him," Nate said.
'The people surrounding him, what does that even mean?' Kai thought but could not find what Mia meant by the 'people surrounding Nate,'
Just then, he could hear Dave as he explained that Peter wasn't the only person that fought them, that they were also other people with supernatural powers.
He learned that one could turn himself into a beast, and the other has a sharp chainsaw on his forehead with another in his hand.
Hearing this, Kai was able to understand it, but he still looks at Mia.
"You already know of this?" Kai asked.
"Yes, the moment we met the guy and wore the ring on his fingers, we have already interrogated him before now," Mia said.
They had gotten the how story beforehand after wearing the ring to Dave before bringing him back to the base.
"You didn't tell me, and shouldn't we be discussing how to track Nate down before reporting back to him?" Kai felt like Mia was out of his mind this time.
"No no no, that won't be necessary. those people surrounding Nate are all superhuman and for us to take them down we need a group of people, large ones, that's why I'm waiting to hear what his father would have to say" Mia said with a smirk on his lips.
"Sometimes, I just don't understand the type of human being you are," Kai said placing his hand on his forehead like he was having a headache.
Mia only smiles at the compliment while looking at the holographic projector.

Meanwhile, still inside Chris's office, the latter suddenly stood up after a couple of minutes he was sitting with his heart racing.
"You know, the only way to know if all this is true is by paying a visit back home" saying that, Skinny already knows what to do as he started sending commands through the telephone in the office.
"And as for you," Chris turned back to Dave and said.
"If all this turns out to be a stupid jock, then consider yourself dead" with that Chris stormed off the room followed by Skinny while leaving Dave all alone in the office.
'This is getting interesting every moment of the day and I like it!' Mia thought joyfully inside as he ordered Dave to follow Chris and Skinny.
