Chapter 420 - Chapter 420 - Obito Uchiha 01.

[Chapter Size: 2600 Words.]

Unknown Location, 43.

...

...

Sounds of high-speed movement echoed through the air, while explosions from the ground being kicked up occurred across that battlefield.

Once again on the continent, Obito was trying to keep up with his teacher's movements, who had begun running around him, and his eyes struggled to follow.

This time, the one Minato was training was not Naruto, but the young Obito, who needed his attention and quickly looked to the side when he noticed something coming toward him at high speed.

Activating his eyes, he used Kamui's Mangekyō Sharingan and allowed his teacher's punch and body to pass right through him. Obito immediately smiled, an idea forming as he approached his sensei to attempt a counterattack, trying to reach him at high speed. That was because his teacher was moving more slowly, clearly wearing weights that Obito considered inhuman for anyone else to use.

Obito was not well-versed in speed, and the moment he tried to reach him with a punch, Minato's back disappeared before he realized it. He noticed that a kunai had appeared beside him, left behind when Minato attacked and passed through his body. The metal edge of a kunai touched his neck at that moment, and that was the end for him.

After all, he might have Kamui, but his teacher could tell when he would activate it, and clearly Obito did not want to test his speed against that man among all others.

"Looks like you lost, Obito." The calm voice sounded.

Obito could do nothing but swallow hard as he landed on the ground. Once again, he had lost. Not that he could say he had ever won against Minato-sensei. His sensei had always been much faster and smarter than him.

No matter how powerful and fast Obito's jutsu had become now, his sensei always knew the perfect moment to catch him because he understood very well the weakness of the dōjutsu that transported his body to another dimension to become intangible.

Obito had been caught off guard when Professor Minato invited him for a conversation, explaining exactly what was going to happen now with his new type of training, what he would receive, and what his plans were. That had been months ago.

Obito first awakened the one-tomoe Sharingan. After months of training every single day without stopping, he managed to reach the final stage, but with a type of training in which his sensei had not left him a single opportunity to even catch his breath. Obito also received the first gift during that period: what was called Mokuton cells.

Then, his senseis and Aunt Tsuna placed him on a medical stretcher and applied it to him. After that, it was incredible when it happened. Obito remained completely unconscious for three days and another four days awake but still confined to the stretcher while they studied his vital signs.

It felt strange to go through all of that. Of course it did. But at the same time, his sensei had explained that it was a way for him to become stronger.

Obito wanted that. He wanted to become powerful.

He had already taken great pride in managing to awaken his Sharingan and then evolve it under Aunt Mikoto's guidance and his sensei's training.

And it wasn't as if he had anyone waiting for him. After all, Obito was an orphan, even though he had gained a great deal of prominence within the clan due to his position as Minato Namikaze's student... So staying there for a week at his sensei's house was not a problem.

Meanwhile, he could feel the changes in his body. During his days of rest, he noticed his chakra increasing tremendously, to a level he could no longer even control.

It was only after training resumed that he felt the physical changes as well, with his body growing stronger. At the very least, he was four times more powerful than his old body before the transformation. That was considering he was already an Uchiha and naturally possessed a strong body.

Obito then continued training. His chakra had also increased several times over. His teacher said that this was something quite common and that he would remain under Aunt Tsuna's supervision. Indeed, he was placed together with young Yamato and adult Yamato to train from that day onward.

Kakashi and Rin asked the reason for that change, since Obito had started participating in a special training program. Obito did not know how to answer, but his sensei explained that he had undergone a test during those weeks and now needed to control these new abilities. After all, among all of them, he was the only one who had gained an affinity for a new power connected to the Wood Release affinity.

At the same time, he discovered that he might possess Mokuton abilities. After all, his senseis' original intention was to use the healing capabilities those cells would grant his body, along with the physical enhancement, so that he could activate the next stage of his eyes without blinding himself. However, he had managed to perform several Wood Release jutsu since then.

Then there was another conversation with Mikoto and his sensei. During it, they explained the changes his eyes would undergo in the next stage, using Mikoto's own Mangekyō Sharingan as an example.

Obito immediately became excited upon learning that he could obtain that, a Sharingan beyond the normal eye!

And once again, his teacher called him to the laboratory to apply that special chakra to him, something that might force his eyes to evolve after being exposed to that extremely special chakra, originating from an ancestral bloodline.

Obito could not say it was the best experience in the world. The moment the new chakra entered his spiritual system, it caused a conflict between the different energies, as none of them seemed to get along with the others.

It made him feel as if his very being was falling apart. It was a strange sensation. It was not physical pain, but something beyond the body and deeply uncomfortable. He could feel his body trembling, his chest growing heavy, and an instability that was impossible to ignore, until his eyes began to change.

Reality itself seemed to distort. His sensei's words at that moment sounded strange, but he followed them. That he needed to build a world. A reality capable of protecting everyone who was important to them.

He wanted his sensei to be proud of him.

He wanted to become Hokage.

To protect Kakashi, Rin, his senseis, and everyone else... Perhaps he wanted even more to protect the person he loved, although that had already become a rather delicate subject at that point.

Even so, another month passed.

Obito continued training all of his powers and learning how to control them. The results began to appear during the last week, as he tried to get used to his new strength, apply the use of his new eyes in combat, and also combine his jutsu with the vortex of his eyes.

Obito possessed his own dimension now, able to travel through it at high speed, almost like teleporting into the real world.

He had also grown accustomed to that place. Although it was quite silent and gloomy, it was still his, and no one could reach him there. A refuge where he could train alone and store precious things.

That also made him think about the past few weeks. Professor Minato himself would give him a few hints about the uses of his eyes, which was rather strange. He had the feeling that Minato-sensei seemed to have known about his eyes from the very beginning and deliberately left pieces of information as bait so that Obito could understand them after reflecting and discovering certain things on his own.

Even though he still did not understand that his sensei knew the power of his eyes before it had even manifested, he did not pay much attention to it. After all, he considered it normal coming from him, since his teacher had always been someone incredible.

Obito fell to the ground, exhausted, while breathing with some difficulty.

"How are you doing?" his teacher asked.

"I need to rest a little more..." Obito looked up, deactivating his Sharingan. Tired, he simply sighed.

"That's fine. You still don't have complete control over your chakra... After you awakened the Mangekyō, your chakra became even more powerful. You're still wasting a lot of chakra, even after a month," Minato explained.

Obito could understand that. Those cells had greatly helped his eyes through their natural healing abilities, allowing him to use them freely. He had also trained his chakra, but after receiving yet another increase in his storage capacity, everything had become even more difficult.

It was strange to say this, but Obito already had almost as much power as a bijū within himself... And there was still the storage seal that his teacher had made all of his students study, storing even more chakra to be used in an emergency.

An explosion echoed at that moment, and everyone looked to the side. There, an enormous mass of water was colliding against another as both tried to gain ground rapidly. However, neither force managed to overcome the other.

Obito knew that those were Naruto and Kushina fighting a short distance away from them, since they also used that area for battles.

The Water Release jutsu they employed were extremely abnormal. By normal standards, they would certainly be classified as A-Rank or even S-Rank due to the absurd power behind the water.

Sometimes, they would launch dozens or even hundreds of Water Dragons at each other. Obito simply wondered what kind of chakra reserves were necessary to sustain something like that, but coming from those two...

Even for Obito, fighting Naruto was always a difficult challenge. Obito knew that because he lost every time, but he never made it easy for Naruto to win.

He was still an eleven-year-old boy facing someone who was sixteen, but Naruto always told Obito that when he had been his age, he was still just an Academy student and was nowhere near the level of strength Obito possessed at eleven years old. Even Minato would have had great difficulty facing an Obito of that age... Since those methods had not existed back then.

'And to think I've already come this far in just a few months since leaving the Academy.' Obito murmured as he looked at his hand opening and closing into a fist.

Obito had practically acquired everything he wanted in life, but he had also been given some truths, advice, and had been forced to mature. Especially regarding training, his sensei, and his new family.

Water fell on them like rain before he watched the two forces continue colliding until they finally stopped attacking each other. In the distance, he could see two golden figures fighting one another while using the fox's cloak.

The strength of that mother-and-son pair was on an entirely different level.

Even at the beginning, Obito had never found it easy to deal with Naruto when Naruto did not yet understand his power, but after he became accustomed to his new abilities, the difference between them narrowed considerably.

They moved at incredible speed. Obito could not even follow them while they fought. It was a level of speed at which most people in the world would appear completely motionless.

His own speed had also increased greatly, but it had never been his strongest point. He was still far behind those two and, especially, his sensei.

"Get some rest. We'll continue training later," his sensei said. Obito nodded as he watched the battle in the distance.

Minato watched his wife exchange a few more blows with Naruto before turning back to Obito. "I want you to try something different once you're ready."

"Sure...?" Obito looked at him curiously.

"You can launch things propelled by your vortex after pulling them out of your dimension, can't you? Do you think you could use that to attack?"

"I don't know. I've never tried," Obito answered honestly.

For now, they were more focused on his right eye, since it was the one he used the most to apply his power to his own body, teleportation, and access to his special dimension.

At the same time, Obito still had his left eye. It could unleash a powerful suction force on anything in front of him.

Obito could absorb entire jutsu and even ninjas who would barely have time to react to his powers. More precisely, he could create a dimensional rift, and in the next instant, the ninja would fall dead without a head if Obito could control it as well as Kakashi—or even better.

It was something both terrifying and powerful at the same time. That was the power to face his enemies and kill them with ease, but if he needed to protect his comrades, then he would use it.

"Let's try with a few rocks, just as a test," Minato suggested. He knew that, in the original history, Obito was capable of pulling enormous iron projectiles out of his dimension. So why wouldn't he be able to launch debris at high speed as well?

"I can try now, sensei..." Obito stood up and looked around.

The entire area was destroyed, filled with both large and small rocks. He began pulling one of them in as the vortex appeared.

A rock nearly four meters tall was dragged into the dimension, taking about five seconds to disappear completely.

That was still a speed Minato considered quite slow.

He hoped to reduce that to mere milliseconds in the future, allowing Obito to capture enemies before they could escape his attacks or even evade a Bijūdama launched in his direction.

Obito did not wait. He opened his eyes as the vortex reappeared to his left side. Previously, he had only made objects emerge.

This time, however, the rock was expelled forward. It did not come out very fast, but it traveled about five meters before striking the ground and continuing across the terrain, crushing everything in its path as it shattered apart.

"Was that good, sensei?" Obito asked cautiously.

Minato seemed thoughtful. Because, from what he had just seen, to be honest, it was a good start. Far from ideal, but a good start.

"It was," Minato replied. "You already know how to use that quite well. I wanted to test whether you could even absorb jutsu and then place them in a stationary area. Maybe even use it as jutsu storage." Minato began to ramble.

"You could even launch multiple elements if, for example, you asked Rin and Kakashi to cast their jutsu and then absorbed them all with your Kamui."

"I don't know, sensei. I don't know if I can do that," Obito replied thoughtfully. He knew that when his sensei started rambling about ideas and theories, he never stopped.

"Imagine having a warehouse full of Bijūdama ready to fire whenever you wanted, simply by accessing your dimension through your right eye and launching them at your enemies. With two Kurama jinchūriki, it wouldn't be difficult to build up a good stockpile of Bijūdama...." Even Minato could not help feeling a little envious of that.

Imagine becoming a walking nuclear machine gun, bombarding the entire battlefield.
