As the large male Yeti saw Arlo rushing toward him like a black bolt, he growled, lifted both arms up, and roared, causing the snow around him to explode into a swirling whirlwind of sharp ice shards.
Arlo was the strongest, Rex was the toughest, and Arr was the fastest. There were three of them, and three Yetis to slay, and so, the fight went just as the orcs expected. As the Yeti roared, Samantha's second bullet came flying like a spark and shot right through the male Yeti's right lung. She was aiming for the heart, but the swirling wind and sharp ice blades managed to deflect her shot.
It was horrifying to see an armor-piercing round get deflected by just that, but this was the nature of fighting against aliens. Their power was always bone-chilling. Samantha loaded her third round in, and by that time, Arlo was already upon the male Yeti, jumping right through the whirlwind of sharp ice blades.
