Ezekiel stepped out of a portal alone into a crater which was caused by a hammer landing in the middle of the desert. The hammer crashed into the ground a couple of hours ago and no one had found it yet. Ezekiel walked around the hammer once before he stopped on one side of it and read the engraving, 'Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.'
Ezekiel studied it for a few moments as he thought, 'Even though I'm not like Steve, I've probably done more good than him so I should be worthy, right?'
Ezekiel's right hand tightened into a fist before he reached out and gripped the shaft and tried to lift it. The hammer didn't move at all and Ezekiel stared at it for a few seconds before he laughed. After a minute or so, Ezekiel stepped back and studied the hammer as he rubbed his chin and said, "Looks like I'm not good enough… Then again I'm not a boy scout like Steve."
Ezekiel walked around the hammer as he thought, 'But Thor isn't really a boy scout like Steve, he's killed plenty of people while out fighting for Asgard…'
Ezekiel paused in front of the hammer as another thought popped in his mind, 'Thor is a warrior though and I'll gladly kill anyone who is a threat even if they're defenseless.'
Ezekiel slowly walked around the hammer as he touched something under his shirt. Nothing happened visually, but Ezekiel's entire body relaxed and he let out a comfortable sigh before he said, "I don't care if you think I'm worthy or not, I'm gonna lift you with my own strength and there is nothing you can do to stop me."
Ezekiel's eyes narrowed and he slowly moved his body around getting used to it before he stepped in front of the hammer ready for round two. When Ezekiel grabbed the hammer again he took a solid grip and started to lift. The hammer shifted slightly this time as Ezekiel put more strength into it. Slowly Ezekiel lifted the hammer and as he did, his feet sunk into the ground at the same time. After a minute Ezekiel held the hammer up as sweat poured down his face. Ezekiel swung the hammer once and almost fell over from the effort before he dropped the hammer back on the platform it created from its landing and dropped to the ground gasping for breath.
"I told you I could do it." Ezekiel said as he steady his breathing before he stood up and pulled a few things from his storage seal and said, "I could break your magic with my own, but let's see how you work against my sealing arts."
Ezekiel placed four seal tags on the hammer and activated each of them. A couple minutes passed before the seals flashed and Ezekiel reached out to grip the hammer. This time he didn't struggle with it at all and could easily swing it around as he practiced fighting with it. After a while Ezekiel aimed the hammer towards a rock in the distance and tried to fire a lightning bolt. When nothing happened Ezekiel swung the hammer again as he said, "Lightning bolt!"
Ezekiel stared at the hammer when nothing happened again and frowned before he swung it as he said, "Go Mjolnir, I chose you!"
Again nothing happened so Ezekiel threw the hammer towards the rock as he said, "Hammer attack!"
The hammer tumbled through the air and completely missed the rock as Ezekiel stood there with his hand stuck out. Ezekiel waved his hand around a few times and when it didn't return he walked over and picked it up. Ezekiel attempted a number of embarrassing things to get a reaction from the hammer but everything failed in the end.
After a while Ezekiel clicked his tongue and put the hammer back in its place before he removed the seals and made the place look like he was never there. A second later Ezekiel disappeared through a portal and the crater was empty again as Ezekiel appeared in front of Hulk's house. Instead of knocking, Ezekiel opened the door as he said, "I'm back."
"Did you find him?"
Hulk and Hela were on the couch focused on a game as Ezekiel dropped next to Hela and said, "Just his hammer, it doesn't look like Thor's arrived yet."
Ezekiel watched them fighting a boss together before he pulled out his phone and sent a couple of messages out. His phone chimed back multiple times and after a few minutes he put it away and asked, "You never answered, do you wanna meet him again or not?"
"I'll think about it, I'm busy." Hela replied as she dodged an attack and let Hulk charge at the boss.
Ezekiel smiled a little bit but said nothing as he watched them combo down the boss. After they cleared the level Ezekiel grabbed another controller and joined in which automatically increased the level difficulty. A couple hours passed in a blur as they farmed a few levels to gear up before Ezekiel called it a night along with Hela.
Once the group separated, Ezekiel ended up at home and slept till his alarm went off. Instead of getting ready for school, Ezekiel headed upstairs for breakfast with his family before he sent off a clone and he went off to wait for Thor. While Ezekiel wasn't completely sure when he would appear, he knew it wouldn't be long so he took the day off and worked on some personal projects. Ezekiel worked through the day, had lunch with Hela and dinner with his family before he returned to his training room and worked through the night.
It was past midnight when JARVIS'S voice came from his phone as Ezekiel worked at a computer, "Thor has been spotted, the research group you sponsored found him."
"Did they run him over?"
"... Twice."
Ezekiel chuckled before saving his work and stood as he asked, "Where are they at now?"
"Driving him to the hospital." JARVIS said and displayed their location on one of the big monitors Ezekiel had set up in his training room.
Ezekiel glanced at it before he opened a portal and stepped out onto a dirt road. As the portal snapped closed Ezekiel saw a pair of headlights in the distance and held up his arm with his thumb stuck out. With the vehicle's speed it didn't take long for it to reach him and with his location in the middle of the road they easily spotted him. Even though they were in a hurry, the vehicle stopped next to Ezekiel and the window rolled down.
Ezekiel smiled at them in the dim light as he said, "Hey Dr. Foster, could I have a ride?"
"Ezekiel?!?" Three people exclaimed at the same time after the dome light inside the old military truck turned on.
"Hi, it's good to see all of you. So about that ride?"
Jane opened the door and jumped out as she asked, "You have to help, we have someone injured in the back of the truck! Can you quickly transport them to a hospital?"
"Thor is Asgardian, being run over barely tickled the guy… Darcy's taser probably stung a little though."
Jane stopped near the back of the truck and turned around to look at Ezekiel as Darcy's head popped out of one of the back windows and asked, "Wait, how did you know I tased him?"
"Because it's my job to know."
"Do you know what the next lottery numbers are?!?"
"No, but I could easily rig the next draw."
"Darcy!" Jane said as she shot a look at the other woman before both of their heads snapped towards Ezekiel as they exclaimed, "What!?!"
"You can really rig it?!? Darcy excitedly asked as her eyes lit up before Jane said, "Don't even think about it!"
"What's wrong with wanting some extra money?"
Ezekiel smirked as the two women stared at each other before a man cleared his throat and said, "Maybe we should talk about this subject later."
Ezekiel glanced over to see Erik Selvig as Jane nodded in agreement before she waved Ezekiel towards the back and opened the door. Thor was laid out on the ground completely knocked out without a care in the world on his face. Ezekiel glanced Thor over once as he said, "Funny, last time I saw him, he was laid out on the ground almost exactly like this… At least this time he isn't bruised all over and covered in blood."
"He might not be… Wait, why was he covered in blood last time?" Jane asked in concern before Erik said, "He was hit by our vehicle, he might have internal injuries."
"Like I said, Thor is Asgardian. He's just knocked out from the taser." Ezekiel said as he raised a hand and smacked Thor across the face as he added, "Welcome to Earth!"
Thor's eyes snapped open and he sat up as he looked around in confusion before his eyes landed on Ezekiel. Ezekiel smiled and gave a slight bow with his head as he said, "Thor, it's good to see you again."
"Ezekiel? Why are you on New Mexico?"
"New Mexico is a place on Midgard. And I'm here because I have an extra house here, so I visit it often." Ezekiel said as he extended his arm and helped Thor out of the truck and asked, "But I'm actually curious why a Prince of Asgard is here?"
Thor frowned and his head tilted downward before he let out a sigh and said, "Father banished me and stripped me of my powers."
Ezekiel nodded slowly as Darcy poked her head out from behind Jane and asked, "What's Asgard?"
Thor looked up and under the dim light from the truck studied Darcy before he pointed at her and said, "You attacked me!"
"That's because you were screaming at the sky like a mad man."
"I was talking to my father, I wanted him to open the Bifrost for me." Thor said in a frustrated tone as he glanced at the sky.
"Are you sure he isn't…" Darcy asked as she spun an index finger in a circle next to her ear.
Ezekiel chuckled as Thor frowned before Ezekiel patted him on the shoulder and said, "While he looks human, Thor is actually Asgardian and a prince to boot. You would be familiar with him if you've ever read anything about Norse mythology."
"When he was shouting at the sky, his father and at least one other person could hear him. They just choose to ignore him because of his banishment." Ezekiel said as an after thought while the others stared at Thor in shock.
Thor's face fell and he looked at the ground as he said, "I was also stripped of my powers and my hammer."
"Pardon my ignorance, but are you saying the man next to you is Thor, son of Odin and the god of thunder?"
"Pretty much."
"I tased a god…" Darcy said in shock as her face paled slightly.
Ezekiel waved off the comment as he said, "That only worked because he's currently powerless. If he was at full strength that would have tickled him."
Ezekiel turned his focus back on Thor as he said, "So what happened anyways? Your father wouldn't have stripped you of power unless you really fucked up."
Thor frowned again and his head dropped as he let out a tired sigh before he said, "I don't wanna talk about it right now."
"Sounds like you need a strong drink."
Thor's eyes lit up as he glanced up at Ezekiel and said, "Yes! A strong drink is exactly what I need right now!"
Ezekiel nodded in understanding before he glanced over the others and said, "How about you guys? Wanna visit Genosha?"
Jane looked at Thor and her eyes were almost glued to him before she shook her head and said, "We have too much data to go over."
"No way! He just offered to take us to Genosha, that place has a travel wait list that's six months long!" Darcy said as she grabbed Jane by the shoulders and shook her.
"I don't know, we have-" Jane was cut off as Ezekiel said, "I fund your research, so I'm technically your boss. Just consider this as me giving you all a night off, the data will be there tomorrow."
Jane couldn't argue against that and after Ezekiel helped return the truck to their research station, he portaled everyone to Genosha and took them around the place. Afterwards they ended up at a special bar that served alcohol that worked on Asgardian's and Ezekiel hung out and talked with them for a few hours. Once Thor was black out drunk and the others weren't much better, Ezekiel took them all back to the research station to rest.
