He could not afford to waste it.
Deric's struggles gradually weakened as his heartbeat slowed.
His body trembled violently for several moments before finally becoming still.

Deric collapsed onto the floor and for several seconds, nothing happened.
Then his fingers moved.
Deric slowly pushed himself up.
Soon, his breathing had changed before his eyes opened.
They were crimson.
Rene watched carefully as Deric stared at his own hands.
The newly transformed Vampire clenched his fingers.
The strength flowing through his body was completely different from anything he had experienced before. His senses had become more sensitive, his wounds were already beginning to heal, and he could hear sounds from outside the warehouse that would have been impossible for him to notice as a human.
Deric looked at Rene.
