Upon reaching the jetty, they found two boats waiting for them—one designated for passengers and the other for transporting the horses and supplies. Several workers employed by the boat provider stood ready to assist with the transfer.
As soon as the carriage came to a halt, Eric began issuing orders.
The knights and workers moved, unloading the luggage and guiding the horses down the jetty and onto the waiting vessels. Everything was handled efficiently, and each task was carried out with seamless coordination.
Once the loading was complete, the second-in-command knight approached the carriage and knocked lightly on the door.
"Commander, everything is ready," he reported. "We can depart at any time."
"Good," Kyren replied. "Tell the men to board. We leave immediately."
Eric bowed and relayed the order to both the knights and the boat operators.
Beside him, Anna watched the activity with growing unease.
"Come, Anna," Kyren said gently. "It's time to board."
