The cart drove for three days without making a proper stop.
By the end of the first day, Kui understood that Guilin had no intention of letting him out.
He had prepared food and water beforehand, and whenever the horses needed to rest or be changed, Kui remained chained inside while Guilin handled everything himself.
Even when Kui begged to step outside just long enough to relieve himself, Guilin refused and instead pulled a chamber pot from beneath one of the seats.
Kui had stared at it in disbelief, certain the man had finally lost whatever remained of his mind.
Unfortunately, Guilin was completely serious.
The first time he needed to pee, Kui stubbornly held it for as long as he could, hoping Guilin would eventually give in and stop the cart. He didn't.
By the time Kui finally surrendered and used the pot, his face was burning so badly with humiliation that he couldn't even look toward the front of the cart.
