"Watching them destroy the city however they wanted… it pissed me off," Zeyn admitted. "That's why I couldn't just stand and watch. But I… wasn't strong enough."
Silence fell between them.
Only the soft breeze moved through the open balcony.
Kriss stared at the sky as well. Or maybe he was looking far beyond it, thinking about the chaos unfolding somewhere outside the campus.
Then, suddenly,
"Well," he said casually, "for someone who can only disappear for one minute, that sounds about right."
"You…"
Zeyn's brows furrowed. His fists tightened.
"Pfft- HAHAHAHA! Alright, alright!" Kriss burst out laughing, clearly enjoying himself. "You should see your face right now."
"That's not something you joke about! They're dangerous. If you ever run into them, stay away. No matter what."
The atmosphere tightened again. The wind felt colder.
Kriss finally dropped his playful attitude. He swallowed, his breath slightly heavier.
"So they're… beyond terrorists?" he asked.
