If they could do such simple tasks that were required of them, then it would make them more trustworthy to leave the rest to them, especially since it made things easier for others who would be checking things out and handling such arrangements.
If those people checking things out and making those arrangements had a reduced workload and a good impression on such a group, then they would be less likely to consider looking for others to handle the rest of the task.
Since there were people in front of them, they could just get things over with quite quickly by letting those people continue where they left off.
Each of those people could have their own intentions that could make things conclude in a different manner, but it was always better for any group to handle such matters to increase the odds of them being paid for the work they had done and to be hired to finish the task.
