Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

(POV Leander)

My name is Leander Drakos, and I am from Greece, my age will be 25 tomorrow. I'm 6' 2", with dark brown hair that looks black, brown eyes, olive skin, a straight nose, and developed cheekbones with a rectangular-shaped face.

I am also quite fit since I love to work out. I work out about two times a day. I run in the morning to get my cardio workout in, and after school, I go to the gym on campus.

After leaving Ms. Anderson's class, I started to head for my next class, but I could not get the dream I had out of my mind. It felt so real, like I was there as a spectator.

While I was lost in my thoughts, I heard my name being called, "Leander over here." I see Leo with two other people we regularly hang out with.

Walking over to them, I say, "Hey, Hank and Thomas, how are you guys?"

"Doing pretty good," They both said almost simultaneously. "Hey, Leander, is it true you slept in Ms. Anderson's class? You are one brave soul, like sure she is also from Greece, but still brave of you to sleep in her class." Hank said, wrapping his arm around my shoulders with a massive grin.

I forgot that Hank once fell asleep in her class, and man, did he get punished for it. She made him write a 10-page essay on why he is still in her class, and to top it off, she found out that Hank is in boxing. So she contacted his coach and had him increase his training regimen by five times his average amount.

Since then, she has been feared by most of her students. However, for some reason, I always feel that she is giving me special treatment. It is not like I can prove it, but many of my friends think the same way.

There was also a running joke that she was interested in me as a potential partner. Not that I would mind, she is a gorgeous woman. People say she is in her 40s, but when you look at her, she seems to be in her late 20s, maybe early 30s.

Ms. Anderson is 6'0" tall, with long brown hair, brown eyes, a straight nose with a scar on the bridge, olive skin, and a muscular but seductive figure.

Only a few people know this, but I knew Ms. Anderson before coming to college. My family is wealthy in Greece, and I am the only child. So I got most of what I wanted, and one day when I was 18 years old, I decided to learn swordsmanship.

My parents hired the best instructor that they could find in Greece to teach me, and she was the instructor my parents hired. She is Greece's best swordsmanship, spear wielder, and archery instructor.

She taught me for three years before she moved to America. Only last year, I got a letter from her saying she had become a history teacher at a college. Who would have thought that the college I chose would be where she taught.

"Dude, you still there?" Thomas said while knocking on my head with his fist.

Snapping out of my thoughts, I waved away his hand and answered, "Hey, knock that off. Sorry, I remembered the time when Henry slept in her class."

Hearing my reply, Henry winced from memory. Then he looked at me, saying, "I hope she does something like that to you. So that you know how it feels, it is still hard to trust my coach not to increase the training regime again."

We all started to laugh at Henry's comment and began to walk out of the college campus. Leo asked us, "So, what should we do? We have tomorrow off from work and classes."

We started to brainstorm we discussed what to do tomorrow. We did this all the way to the off-campus dorm rooms.

"Okay, we are here, and I want to catch up on some sleep. So, I will see you guys later." I said while waving at them and heading for my dorm room.

Thomas calls me before I enter the room, "Remember, we are going to breakfast tomorrow to celebrate your birthday."

"Don't worry; I will not forget to spend your guy's money tomorrow," I said while laughing, to hear their curses while shutting the door behind me.

(3rd Person POV)

Leonidas, amidst a battlefield, turned toward a Persian charging him and ran his spear through him. Then blocked the guy's overhand sword swing with his shield. Right after, he threw his shield at the guy heading for him on his left, knocking him down.

He thrust his spear through the man's chest before him. He was swinging his spear behind him and throwing the guy on his spear off before grabbing the new Persian in front of him by the neck and snapping it.

Throwing the body to his left, he thrust his spear into the stomach of another Persian in front. Pulling his spear out, he turned around and stabbed the enemy behind him.

He was kicked in the back before he could draw out his weapon from the dead Persian, making him lose his balance for a second. Doing a low sweep with his spear, he tripped the person who kicked him. Then a new enemy on his left backhanded his head, making him drop to one knee.

Catching the left side enemy's sword hand by the wrist before he could decapitate him. Trying to bring up his spear to run the guy through, the Persian punched him in the face with his free hand.

Still holding the guy's wrist, he thrusts his spear into the enemy; he tripped that got up to attack him. Then dragging the guy he was holding onto the ground in front of him to stab the enemy through a couple of times before catching his breath.

Getting back up, Leonidas went throughout the battlefield, killing anyone he came across until tackling the Persian leader of this attack off a cliff into some ruins. The Persian leader named Kurush got up and said, "Puny Spartan! I'll bring Xerxes your head."

Leonidas' reply was, "Xerxes sends his sheep to slaughter. Come, Persian!" Before dodging Kurush's overhand attack with an axe.

Enraged by missing his attack, he comments, "I will bring Xerxes your head, you insolent Spartan fool!"

Only to have Leonidas reply with, "Come and get it!" Then rolling away from another attack from Kurush. Before he could attack back, Kurush attacked again just to be dodged again.

This time Leonidas counterattacked with a thrust just to be blocked by the Persian's shield. Kurush could not even react to Leonidas' next attack, which broke his guard, staggering him back several steps. To have several spear thrusts into him.

Kurush being resilient, counterattacked back with a powerful overhand attack to have Leonidas back step out of reach of the attack. Leonidas then used the power within himself to have a sudden, shocking blast stagger Kurush again.

Several more powerful spear thrusts hit Kurush during his time of weakness. However, he was able to power through the attacks and make a hit on Leonidas too. Taking that hit made Leonidas step back, and when Kurush saw this, he jumped up to bring down his axe in a powerful attack.

Seeing this attack, Leonidas stepped to the side, dodging the attack and making a counterthrust with his spear. Before he could make any more attacks hit, Kurush brought up his shield to block. He then shield-charged Leonidas knocking him back several steps.

Collecting the power in his legs, Leonidas charged forward with the spear in both hands, imitating a bull charge. Stunning Kurush with just enough time for Leonidas to run his spear through Kurush's stomach and killing him.
