Chapter 24 - Chapter twenty

After taking an afternoon nap already, Lantian got off the house. In hand, she was holding a small wine jar, and she drank some of it while she was strolling down stone stairs.

Seeing that, Xiaolan, who was carrying a bamboo basket covered by a cloth and walking behind, said, "Miss, you drink wine."

"Any problem?"

"I just care about your health."

"Don't worry," Lantian grinned. "Just a few sips."

Once again, as they reached the house of Yang, Lantian took her maid to the behind portal that she had used on the previous day. Her reason for doing this was because she did not want people in the house of Yang to know that she came—she was bored to receive the boring soft welcome from the house owners; furthermore, the back door was closer to the homestead of the second daughter of Yang Fu; she did not need to walk much.

Talking about Caihong, she was already prepared and waited for the Wu in the field of grass before her own camp.

"Did you sleep well last night?" Lantian said with a big smile.

"I never have bad sleep," Caihong replied with a stone face.

"Then, did you dream about me?"

Yang's daughter stared at the female speaker. "Non-sense."

Still, the high lady smiled while her maid held a stupid expression.

"Oh, it's a bunny," Lantian said as she spotted the animal in Caihong's hands. She went near, but before she did, she raised the jar to take a sip of wine, then extended her hand to caress the head of the animal.

"Um." Caihong covered the back of her hand over her nostrils. "You drink wine," she muttered.

Even though only a smile was seen on the face of Lantian. Next she retreated and called Xiaolan to show her racing animal.

When seeing the creature, Caihong was surprised and looked at her animal with a not very happy face. Her mind was thinking it was a kind of injustice because she bore the fast-running animal while the daughter of Wu detained the slow animal. But then she re-thought and believed she did not perform cheating, because the elder lady had mentioned that she could bring any kind of animal to take the race.

Before the combat, the two girls agreed to place a cabbage as the finished line.

"Let's start," Lantian said.

On the grass, Caihong and Xiaolan released the animals next to each other; as for Lantian, she went to relax her body on the stone and enjoyed her liquid.

It should be a very anxious moment in a life of Yang Fu's daughter because the creature that she picked up was famous for being speedy, but at the present, it just showed one hop and then stayed still in the middle of the way, and its pair of eyes was small, like it did not have enough rest for many days. In contrast, the baby tortoise was like a storm wind; it ended the distance of three steps of humans like a flash, and when it reached the finish line, it celebrated its victory by munching the cabbage in its tiny mouth. Not only Caihong but also Xiaolan. Her jaws fell as she saw the action of the bunny and the baby tortoise. Now she comprehended why Lantian told her to keep it without food for one night.

"I told you I can win over you without my family's fortune," Lantian said with a big smile.

Now, only a big breath that the daughter of Yang Fu remained. The girl consented to receive her failure.

"Say what you want me to do."

"Well," Lantian made her lips grin largely, "the first wish is you massage my shoulders."

With an unhappy face, Caihong walked to stand behind the lady, then expanded both of her hands to knead where she was told to.

"So good." Lantian smiled, then closed her eyes and waved her fan slightly to produce wind to cool her face and body. During it, her lips never forgot to carry a forever beam. It was the mildest moment that she wished for. Though the kneading was like rubbing rock over her flesh, she was very joyful.

About half an hour later, the fingers seemed to be losing strength. Hurriedly, Lantian opened eyes and called an end, "That's enough."

With a relaxing breath, Caihong choked her arms. Then she asked, "What is your second wish?"

Lantian giggled, "Why so hurry?" She got up from the stone, and before she left, she said, "I will come tomorrow."
